You could change the rack's a touch and put a roof top tent on it to get
you off the ground so the creepy crawly's don't get you. Just an idea for
you cmohr

Don't mind being on the ground, Oztent, so alls good, just want to carry more, more easily. And have less in the car. Might even try to put a basis Kitchen in the trailer so that make o'nites even easier. Will still keep the fridge in the car tho.

I'm sure .....IF.... this whole project takes root, and is happening, late comers will be welcome. After all, its "Just a coincidence" that there will be Jeep Drivers, hopefully from all over Oz, Just so happening to be driving to the same place at the same time, and just so happening to meet up, (as you do) in central Australia

Kev.... You'd love it.... There'll be Kangaroos..... plenty of them, they even taste good.. :P

Hi folks,
I lead a group of 8 vehicles up the hay river in 06.plus a trip across in 04.
One towed a Kimbeley Camper weighing 1.3t over Big Red across and up with out any probs except one night we decided to camp in the bed of the Hay River near lake Caroline and when we stoped to have a look at the camp site we all decided to snatch the mate with the camper out in the morning. He was not the only one needing a tow.
I have done the Plenty Highway twice in the last 5 years and it is a breese for campers.I would tow a caravan across.
Cmohr, I would not tow an on road trailer across the desert,NOWAY, Needs to be an offroad for sure.

400 dollars is a bargin, is that the trailer in the picture? it looks in good nick
cheap to change axle and springs

Yes, thats the trailer fort sale... Also just found the maker of it, they are over Goodna way, and new, they are 750. might pop over there and see what they can do in the way of a custom jobby, might make sense to get exactly what i want from the start and not waste money on modding one. I already have some shockies lying around, and the wheels I want to have on the trailer already...

Starting to get a bit excited about this trip...

Come on Lads, surely some of our Western Crew are interested??????

The First National LOST KJ's Australia Annual General Meeting shouldn't be missed

Depending on things at the time and my financial situation I will consider flying up and rent a car  Not joking, Karen & I have talked about it and neither of us want to do such a long trip with the kids. So that’s where I’m at with this trip.

We used to do the Sydney - Adelaide trip a couple of times a year when my kids were little. Also did a Kangaroo Island trip with the cousins as well, and Fraser Island. They took books along and could read in the car (which many can't), and the Secret Seven and Famous Five audio cassettes. We can all still recite the "Ghost Train", and many other episodes. Ah those were the days. My point being its great travelling with kids, they learn alot (even when they're whinging). Now that they're over 21 they look back fondly on those experiences and I know they'll be packing up their kids one day. My 25 year old son will not let me play certain sons on the car cd because they are 'trip songs'.

Absolutely agree .. Here! Here! ............In the long run it is worth their "gorgeous whinging". Remember it won't be long and they will be gone and doing there own thing without YOU :!: (Plus now there is in car DVD's)

I'm really pleased I had it installed .......particularly towing Millie & long trips between fuel stops (e.g Strze. Track etc.) Even around town you can benefit from wait a bit longer to fuel when the prices are more attractive.

and ..........better clearance profile and stronger construction than standard tank.. ...i.e. no real need for skid plate
