i know of a few Lookouts to the gross valley and a glow worm cave. only accessed by 4x4 cars
I also know of a small beach on Colo river accessed by any kind of car or 4x4 if you want to take a so called short cut.
I also know of a picnic grounds behind of Bilpin/ kurrajong Hights and this requires any 2 or 4 WD cars.

The camping reserve at Upper Colo is a great spot but it will be crowded on the long weekend (but it can take over 100 people easily there is so much room to spread out - I think you need to book with the resident ranger or with Hawkesbury Council). The beach there is very nice but the river is bound to be cold now. There are also toilets and cold showers there. There is a very old cemetary at Upper Colo church with grave stones dating back to the early 1800s. Sadly many seem to have been young kids.

giday , i can think of a few places to go but I don't know if you guys and gal would like them. Here are My ideas : The Glow warm caves near Clarence + a camping area Behind the fruit bowl ,accessed by a dirt track+ Upper Colo beach+ mount wilson or Mnt Wilson track. Just to name a few. Mount wilson and Mount Lagoon tracks are only for 4WD.
Camp areas are there for any one

Hi All,
Good weekend had by both of us. :CAMPING: eating and talking
1; Jenko gets bogged crossing the river where a 2wd volo had crossed .
1A; Snatched recovered by my virgin recovery gear
2; Jenko's brand new camp cot snaps in the wee wee hours of the morning 0430hrs,it sounded like a very very large wombat stumbling :furious: round blind :ROTFL: :ROTFL:.
3; We rise about 0615hrs cracking the ice off our swags checking my car thermometer the reading was showing -4*.
4; By this time Jenko is :dizzy: :banghead: :furious: saying I quote "I think I have locked my keys in the KJ".
5; Almost 3 hours later after [b]breaking into Jenko's Kj
and making the the decision to pack up camp earlier than we planed, and driving out to get phone reception so we can contact Jenko's family to meet us with his spare keys sitting down with a coffee before leaving Jenko stands up and turns around feels and finds his keys in the bottom of his track pants, we finish packing up camp and driving out no problems crossing the river this time with me in low range out in front and Jenko with a heavy right foot and front and rear air lockers turn on we made it across,we saw some great scenery great place for a L.O.S.T. weekend trip
Cheers

Mate, not to be unkind, but those cot tent thingees are not 'rated' for Jenko (he's a big boy). He might need two connected together with an equaliser strap. :ROTFL:
