Spoke to Phil last night, he and Sandra are confirmed attendees. Greg can you remove the question mark on their names. I will try again with Jenko.

BTW what's booking process?

Booking is done via the Dorrigo NPWS where you also pick-up the keys to the gates I will make contact with them and check further details and post up any info needed.

Any other NSW members interested that I can post on the list???

OK Just advised by the NPWS Dorrigo office
the following info:-

DOON GOONGE Camping area
1. Remote access 4wd only via locked Gates (key will be supplied once booked)
2. Limited flat camp sites next to river (10 vehicles only)
3. Pit WC on site, 2 x fire rings
4. $15 per vehicle access fee + $5 pp p/nite camping & $3.50 p/nite per child
5. Fire trails available for 4wd access/touring nearby
6. Camper trailers access recommended only via Quartz Rd entry
7 W/E 26-29th August considered to be a quite period and as such we should be able to book the entire site for ourselves if we confirm numbers & fees asap.

There are other camp sites in the area with more facilities which are more exposed to the general public.

Here is a good source of info on the weather that can be expected around the Dorrigo area at the endo of August.

http://weather.farmonline.com.au/images ... _59140.png

Also I spoke to Jenko yesterday, he wants to go but just needs to finish and be satisfied with his strut replacement and engine mgt system fixes (setup for later this week), so keep him as a Maybe on the list for now.

I had an email from DaveG and he is out for this trip due to the amount of time he has to take off for the Cape Trip in September.

Yeah sorry about that. Already taking two and a half weeks off work for the Cape trip, and I know the boss would not be happy if I went for an extra 4 day weekend. Pity, sounds like it will be a good trip! After all this rain, a spin up the Waterfall Way should be spectacular - did it a few years back...

that's OK James. I'll keep updating as a I get any info.

At present we have 6 vehicles confirmed. As you see NPWS have advised that this site is recommended a max. 10 vehicles only. So I guess it is important that we get total numbers confirmed and fees paid as soon as practicable which will allow us to have the whole site to ourselves.

Iam looking forward to this trip

Greg are we booking individually or as a group? I am ready to book which ever way. A little confused on the fee structure, is it $15 per vehicle access per night or $15 per vehicle for the entire weekend and just the $5 PP/per night - so if in on the 26th that would be $20 for that first night (vehicle and me) and then the camping on the 27th and 28th would be an addition $10 only (or do I pay the vehicle access for thos days as well)?

Firstly thanks Fouros for making this a "sticky" thread.....

More info has come to light
a.) Doon Goonge camp ground has room for 7 x only camper trailers & 3 x only tent sites. i.e space is limited
b.) $15 access fee per vehicle (once of fee) + $50 refundable key deposit (access key can be collected from either Grafton, Coff's Harbour or Dorrigo NPWS offices.)
c.) Camping fee $5 pp per night + $3.50per child per night
d.) If a group booking Fees are preferred to be paid in bulk (otherwise individual payments are too much paper work for the office staff....so sad  )i.e. one full payment in advance to confirm booking.
e.) No firewood is supplied to this site so we would need to supply our own

If we have more than 7 camper trailers and/or more than 3 tent site requirements then we would need to have alternative choice such as Dalmorton Camp Ground, which is near by and a larger area, with no need to make a booking or pay access fees. Doon Goonge area can still be accessed if required for trail driving by paying the $15 per vehicle access fee.

So once we have confirmed our numbers we can then decide on which site to use.
If our numbers allow us to fit into Doon Goonge Camp site then one payment will need to be made to hold & gain access to the site.

Hi James
Yes, I'm happy to make the bulk bookings if that's ok with all. However, before I book, all those who wish to attend, confirm by way of fee payment by say, no later than 10th July 2011 (which should allow time for our European travellers to return).

If we do have more interest than can be accommodated at "Doon Goonge" site, we could use the "Dalmorton camp ground" as Plan "B".
