do it, all that white gets a bit to much at times, I think you should be a touch more daring and paint those area's in PINK :ROTFL:
he he, I have though about something similar even the gloss black on the bar when fitting it was good but looked to much like
a cruiser also white with silver accents is now a no go zone for the same reason

Got the paint last night, so if the weather holds I can start later this week, have to resand down the flares again after all the crazing.

On a side note, I was always told the Transmission skid from the autos would not fit on an early model manual, because of the different shaped transmission cross member. And from first inspection , I agreed, as on my old Auto V6, the cross memeber ran straight across, and the one on the manual has a bend that goes backwards about 4inches. But, I put the skid up there on the weekend, and all the bolt holes seem to lineup OK, so I have ordered some nutzerts, ( I have 20 coming so if anyone needs a few let me know) I should have them for the weekend, so I'll fit the transmission skid then. The Transfer case is however a different story, that bend backwards in the crossmember does interfer with that skid, but, If I trim a little off it, and make som enew drill holes in both the skid and the crossmemeber it should go on as well.

I did also notice what may be a problem. I have heard a little "groan" coming from the front end just after starting the car and reversing backwards, after a little investigation, I now see that it is comming from the power steering. Only when stopped or moving very slowly, when I turn the wheels right, turn left no noise, turn right a "groan"..... IS IT BAD??????

I still cant get onto Photo bucket, having a few issues logging in there so as soon as I can get that sorted I'll be able to start putting up a few piccies..

:dizzy:

haha. Neither can I...

Got all the flares and the front grill all undercoated last night, a light sand with a bit 1500 wet and dry and hopefully do the metalic graphite this weekend.

Might try to get all the suspension out of the old one as well on the weekend, so as its ready to go into the CRD.

Yes.... It was GOOD DAY for painting. I got the metalic graphite colour on today, Its looking good, light sand tommorrow and then the clear topcoat, then a polish and it will be ready for instal. So thats the Grill, all the flare nearly ready, the rear bumper is already the colour and the bulbar is done, so thinking the easter weekend will be a big transformation for the Belafonte.

Well finally a bit of REAL action on the Belafonte.

Fros came over today, we removed the nudge bar and the front bumper and grill, the flares, front wheel wells and the rear bumper. Drilled and fitted the ARB front bar, the colour coded grill, pounded down the pinch welds in the front guards, put on the new painted flares (front and rear) and painted rear bumper. Just to make it look pretty we also bolted on the Narva 225 spotties, and out of curiousity put the 31/10.5/15s on. The look great, but, without any lift, you cant drive with them on, look brilliant tho!!!

I'll get some pics tomorrow ( as it was dark when Fros left) so as you can see. I do hope to get the lift installed Sunday, soo I can run the 31's. Then wire up the spotties, uhf and the duel battery system on Monady.

Absolutely stoked to get some actual results happening.

SooooOOOOOoooooo.

Heres the difference between the standard CRD Coils and the ones out of the old Belafonte.. As you can see, a fair bit bigger.

And....................

Firstly, I want to thank, Chris (Pipeliner) and Greg (Team JaG) for helping with the dissassembly of the Old Belafonte, And Gerard For all his help on Saturday, helping me instal the Bullbar, rear Bumper and all the newly painted flares and the colour coded front grill. Without their help this certainly would not have happened.

What a difference a weekend makes, be it a LONG weekend, but anyway.

After Gerard helped me install all the flares, grill, ARB bullbar and bumper I started with the Lift. It was a bit more than I bargained for as, I had to remove it from the old KJ, remove the standard suspension from the CRD, install the lift in the CRD, and then return the old standard suspension to the old V6. So basically remove and install complete suspension (incuding upper control arms and 50mm bump stops to the rear) to Two KJs, AND change all tyres between the two (as well as the spares) , In two days... by myself.

The result...

A 2.5lt CRD Manual, With colour coded flares, grill, rear bumper, ARB front Bar, 4-5 inches of lift, and 31/10'5/15's Mickey Thompson ATZ's on TJ 65th Anniversery Alloy wheels.

Sorry about the long grass.

I love the fact that it doesnt look BIG. But I'm 6'2 and if I stand at the rear tyre, the roof (not the roof rack rail - just the roof) is level with the top of my head. It drives BRILLIANTLY. The bigger tyres have not affected the power of the little 2.5 TD CRD, doesnt even feel them. Comfortable, no clunks of noises.. Very Happy Chappy

Without further adue..

Thanks Glen, Insperation for the paint code scheme came from "German Diesel"s pics on KJ Country. I'm very happy with the result. I must too acknowledge all the info from AJOR and here on LOST, without which I would know nothing. And all the help of my friend here.
