It's not that they are "KJ" only days, it just happens that a group of mates who all talk regularly together on the net, go out 4wheeling for the day and they all coincidently have KJ's. :D Don't see how any reasonable person can complain about that

Personally I don't care what a person drives, just as long as I get on with em. :D Rumor has it a certain "kj" lad here in Brissy will be along in his New Prado next run.

Is Coffs Harbour the middle (ballpark?) if it is, i'm there without a shadow of a doubt.

Cmohr, you'd go nuts with the type of trails they have down there - KJ touring & hard wheeling heaven not to mention a brilliant drive down.

Hey, this could be like a MOAB Australia Run or something ? FULL REPRESENTATION of the KJ COMMUNITY DOWNUNDER !!
(well QLD & NSW anyway  )

How very true. If 'other' Jeepers see that sort of write up in a JAA mag they might start respecting the KJ runs.......

Well that's certainly worth considering, not sure how far Coffs is but it could work. :D

I'm told Coffs is only about 5 to 6hr from Syd (how fast you want to drive). That's cool with me, as my wife works weekends (nights) I would probably come up with my son & the outlaw's can look after my daughter. Do you think it's a good idea to leave it till after winter or not. Would you camp or go a resort  , nothing wrong with comfort. I'm just thinking of the cold night's in a tent

As far as trails go, is it the kind of place you can just cruze around or do you need an OK first?

I'd probably take the Friday & Monday off work, or just the Monday. Leave home at 6am and roll in for lunch on the Sat around noon. 1hr to get the camp sorted or valet parking  , play till dinner & 1 beer :D then have another beer and sleep, drive all day, get petrol, drive again food, beer, drive, food, drive etc.... it could work.

I have a 9 man tent, & if I'm up with only my 3yr old it's going to take a while (unless the wife can get time off).

Crikey, a 9 MAN TENT

What.... has it got a Poolroom and walkin robes???? :D

Well if this thing gets off the groud, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people around to help you put it up.

The pool had to be drained as we weren't using it all that often. We bought the 9 man as we have to take a port a cot for the little one + we take a double blow up matress, a single blow up matress :D . Comfort 1st cmohr :D .

It's got 3 rooms, bloody huge & great if it rains as you can have the kids playinside with lots of room. 29kg when all packed in the bag, not bad really considering when you go away for a few day's your not cramped. The main thing is we like it.

I hope it get's off the ground, I think it would be great fun. Any more thought's on how to go about it?

Oh Yeah, I completely understand with the kiddies, the more the tent looks like a house when camping the better, they don't get as spooked as they would in small tents.

Well, to get things moving I spoze, we just need to get some idea of numbers of people interested, start pulling a couple of dates out our bottoms, and see wot appens.

I think we also need to excersize a little caution with the whole KJ only thing, sure first and foremost it's aboot LOSTKJ downunder, but not only do we need to let it be open to all comers, but actively encourage others as well, to keep the Jeep spirit alive. Folks that do come just have to repect the fact that it IS based around the KJ though. I know those folks that would come to an event such as this would be there in the general spirit of a bunch of jeepers getting together to have some fun, and wouldn't have any problem with that, it's only those who have actually no interest or intent on coming that would be the biggest critics.

we might have to plan it around a long weekend that covers both states, so those with little people dont have to pull them out of school,

i will be in contact with the guys at JAA and see if we can drive some of the moderate/hard tracks from camp coffs ( depending on what sort of driving you want to do)

i will also try to organise a photo-shoot while were there at Team CPC said the JAA guys have a few KJ's there

Wow - I am really excited on this one, it has legs.

Put me down for 100%, no reason that I couldnt make it. Fouros, you check with JAA guys, CDKJ you pack the tent, me i'll get the beer !!

Winter is the whole point of camping me thinks, I love sitting around the camp fire drinking whatever is passed to me and toasting marshmallows :P!

Staying at a resort could make it very expensive all of a sudden. The Pub at Coffs is SENSATIONAL, and I really dont often say that about pubs. Pool table, AMAZING GOURMET PIZZAS and a fire place. The best part is, its only 6mins from the Coffs campsite (if we stayed there) or 2mins from the coastal/creek thingy campsite.

Oh boy i'm excited !! Happy to lead trips too, i've got alot of it on GPS.

Hey, has anyone told other other KJ'ers about this site ?

Brian Walker - (Sydney)
flash013 - (Chris, Brisbane)
pipeliner - (another Chris, Brisbane)
ect ect ??

We would be interested in a Coffs trip. I am sure if we gave the Cheif and the Coffs Coast Jeepers advance notice we would get a tour around the tracks. At least we know if it rains there is a 9 man tent to gather under.
