Find a place that will do internal balancing weights, that way you don't have those unsightly lumps on the rim edge, that stay dirty and can also get knocked off when out on the tracks. I thought I had done something really bad oneday out wheeling, on the drive home I had a shocking shake in the steering, was very worried, but couldn't see any real signs of damage anywhere, untill I noticed a dirty spot on the rim wherethe balancing weight used to be. It had simply been knocked off that day on a rock or something. Mate I was worried for a while, had the wheel re-balanced, No worries. Since then I always ask for internal balancing.

Thanks for that, sounds good. One question, what happens if they need to rebalance? Do they have to take the rubber off and start over.

nah they normally just add/take counter weights off.

Sorry the term is a little misleading....the weights are not actually inside the rim, they are just inside where the spokes of your wheels meet the rim itself they use those stick on weights. It means they aren't hammering those big lead ones onto the outer most edge of the rim with the clip going inbetween the rubber and the rim, if you get my drift.

Wooders is at the docks as I write, 95% chance to pickup tonight. He's bringing a crap load back to his place & his only concern is getting my rims out from the big load. But in saying that he said he would like to have it the out of the way as he will have a space issue at home :D

I can see the finish line Fouros, the ribbon is being raised.

Not sure if that's good or not, what's a bertie beetle? If it's anything like a wet whistle no thanks.

I've now cut 10mm of the inside flare on the rear & fully hammered the metal behind the plastic (top front half only). They fit in nicely but do rud. Now I need to put them to good work. 8)
