Since the KJ was new I have had an annoying brake ABS warning light comming on whenever it feels like it, after 6 visits to the service bay and still no better I gave up on it as the service manager was a tool and kept feeding me a bullpoop story every time I spoke to him about it, basickly just reset the computer thingo and hope the problem would go away.
Well now there is a new service manager at Mackay Jeep so I gave it to them again to try their luck with it and BINGO first attempt, 2hrs and $100 later the problem solved ( for now anyway). Poor connections which a clean up and diabetic?? grease fixed. Thank you Andrew. And Fouros for letting me know there is someone there now who does take an interest in what he is doing.[/b]

Interesting & frustrating story. Pleased it seems to have been resolved for you.

I have from time to time when in 4wd gears have had the "abs & brake failure" lights come on. Only when have returned to 2wd gears, turned the engine off and back on again would the lights go out. ????

Good to Hear Rossco..

Shame really, a lot of the "complaints" about the KJ's tend not so much that there is problems with them, It's more a complaint that the Service people don't know what they are doing and can't solve the issues. On AJOR you hear folks complaining all the time that there KJ is crap, when really it's the service that is crap not the vehicle.

I had the exact same problem after the Pines run (way back then...) Dirty sensor - easily fixed by my local mechanic but unfathomable at the Jeep dealership :?
