Congratulations on the new job Jas. When travelling around central Qld where will you be going? I get up to Dysart a couple of times a year, and the Mud's are in Blackwater - we could catch up!

Cheers
Glen

Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, awfully quiet around here.

Had a call from Phil, he and Sandra are getting ready to go to Alice and Ulluru, via White Cliffs, the Corner Country, up to Innamincka, then back down the Strez to Maree, and up the Oodnadatta - departing in late March. They are travelling in company with a Hilux, both towing their camper trailers. Sadly :banghead: I can't go along as I will be working on a few things on the new property then (like maybe my new shed). I have offered to be his tech support if they need any help, or parts, etc. He has already swapped out a leaking front strut (thanks to Stu for replacing it under warranty). I'm going to send him my Mr Funnel (yes it's the real product name, makes me think of Mr Plow).

This weekend is my house move out of Sydney so I will be 'off the air' for awhile. No ADSL connected yet so I will try to live on NextG wireless till I sort it out.

Just thought I would drop by, the new job is good although the time away from home and the things I like to do is a bit of a struggle. I have nearly put 10000klms on the new work car since I started. I am enjoying talking to customers and helping them out, sorting an issue that someone is having, being it a welding, stock, delivery or need of training is one the most rewarding parts. Have been making my targets but I don't think that I am really responsible for that after only being there a short time. The people I work with are friendly and helpful, the only problem is I wouldn't have a qlue what anyone looks like. I spend a lot of time on the phone. Suz and Nash are going well, the new addition to be is growing steadily (so is Suz as you would quess) only 13 weeks to go. So I hope everyone is doing well and that we will get to catch up when it all settle's down.

Some of you would have met Phil and Sandra at the West Kunderang KJ gathering last year. Phil and Sandra have recently headed off on an extended adventure in their KJ and camper in company with some friends in a Hilux plus camper trailer: route was western NSW, Corner Country, down the Strez to Leigh Creek and up to Maree, then up the Oddnadatta (a detour to Lake Eyre) to Alice, Uluru, Kings Canyon etc was their plan. I had a call from Phil a couple of days ago, they had only been gone a few days when they had a medical emergency in far west NSW and Sandra was medivac'd via the RFDS to Broken Hill. Phil had to drive down the Silver Highway alone to meet up with her at the hospital in Broken Hill. Prognosis - their trip is off, Sandra has to return home as soon as the medicos let her travel. Obviously they are crushed, as this was the big trip; it also probably means that their trip to the 4WD Gathering at the Gawler Ranges in SA in October is out of the question. Once things have settled down and Sandra has recovered, I hope that they can get out again on short/weekend type trips, but Phil is pretty depressed about ever being able to get out again. Obviously they deserve our support and those of us that live near them or are fellow members of the SJC will be trying to catch up with them soon. :(

I'll be going up to Brissy on the 8th of June to spend the long weekend at my son's place. Anyone want to get together for a catchup or quiet ale ?

Secondly, Phil and Sandra stopped by my place last week and I can report that Sandra has recovered from her medical problem and is getting out again - they have just done a weekend camp with the Campertrailer Group in the Hunter Valley.

It's very quite what?? Oh, I see, you mean quiet!!

Things have been a bit busy recently at the Queensland clubhouse - Liz's mum has been in and out of hospital culminating in a triple bypass operation last Monday, so naturally Liz has been zipping down to Sydney together with spending time with Aunt Mary up at Mooloolaba. Mum is fine now and expected to go home next Monday, after which Liz and the rest of the family will be looking after her in shifts.

We also have two of Liz's granddaughters staying with us at the moment - they flew in last night with their mum from Adelaide, all incredibly excited.

Work is bedlam at the moment - it's a case of "which job do I do something on today - which client is getting pi**ed off the most at the delays!".

Yes it is quite quiet isn't it. Been busy working and maintaining house in Mackay, two new grand children in the last couple of months and now starting to get ready for Jambo. Alls well.
