Just wondering if anyone has a camper trailer and what makes people have gone for. Just trying to get an idea of what is out there and if it is something that would be right for us.

Cheers

Will

A LOT of the guys on www.Australia4WD.com have camper trailers.
It really comes down to your budget. I was going to get an offroad 6x4 trailer with treg hitch made up and throw on the Oztrail CT top but plans changed (getting married), it would've cost me around 5k all up but without kitchen etc.

I've been out numerous times with the guys on aus4wd and checked out the different sorts of campers and each has their merits.

End of the day "you get what you paid for" rings very true when it comes to camper trailers.

I was going to get a camper, but, then I bought my Oztent....Very happy with the Oztent :D But there is only the two of us, and I am still thinking of a small offroad trailer maybe, for big trips, ie - more fuel and supplies.

Yes, we have an Odyssey with all the bells and whistles which tows behind the 2.8CRD like a dream. But I'm the first to admit that it's definitely not for everyone!

In general any camper trailer is a good idea as the limited luggage space in the KJ restricts the amount of comfort stuff you can take with you. cmohr will doubtless disagree, but anyone who's seen him driving will know that comfort isn't his prime concern!

Pipeliner, thats a seriously nice trailer, probably better than some people's houses!

Just looking at the moment, quite like the look of http://www.modcon.com.au but thinking of not getting one with a tent as we have our rooftop and putting that on the trailer. Plus with a soft floor you get eneven more storage for all those extras that you can't seem to live without when camping!

I have a camper trailer converted from a tradies trailer. A rooftop tent provides shelter and it hauls my kayaks easily. Its been half way around Oz behind the jeep. Always doing mods, something always breaks.
Cheers
