Guys i have been given an invite by the Gold Coast jeepers to attend a camping weekend put on by the Queensland Jeepers at a Location near gatton on the Long weekend in April

on the saturday night there is an optional Roast Dinner at around $10 dollars a head

here is the info, if you can let me know by the 8th it would be great

1. There is no maximum number who can attend. The more the merrier.
At present we have 26 vehicles from QJC. There is plenty of room, but
maybe just the one shower and 2 toilets may not cope at 'peak' hour
(early morning & late afternoon), so if any of your members have
showers/toilets they might want to consider bringing them. Most of our
members have their own, so I will suggest to them to bring theirs along.
Don't worry if your guys don't have them - I'm sure it will all work
out.

2. You can bring whatever form of caravan, camper, trailer, tent you
want. We have the whole lot from flash 18 footers to dome tents.
Access is good, a dirt road for the last 15 (approx.) kilometres.

3. Not everyone has to have the dinner if they don't want to. All of
our guys just enjoy it. So that your members know what we will be
preparing, the menu is as follows: Roast meats (beef, pork & chicken),
Roast vegetables (potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, peas & corn,
gravy and dessert will be fruit salad and ice-cream. It usually works
out to be no more than $10 per head, just depends on the cost of the
meat. We total up the cost of meat, veges & dessert and divide by the
number eating. We try to make it as economical as possible.

Nothing upsets Trevor & Ros (property owners), unless you are not having
a good time or you don't respect his property or animals.

is really important that we get confirmed
numbers attending and numbers dinning Sat night. We also need to be as
self sufficient as possible so that the impact of us being there is
minimal. Anything we take in has to come back out and we should all
check around our camp sites for rubbish and cigarette butts.

I just wanted to add some more information that I sent out on the Gold Coast Jeepers broadcast. I hope to see more KJ's there.

The Combined club camping weekend is fast approaching and it is time we get firm commitments. I need to have numbers attending and numbers intending to have the roast dinner on the Saturday night to Carolyn from the Qld Jeepers ASAP. The cut off point for numbers is Tuesday 8th April (our next meeting). Please find below the flyer that Carolyn has put out and also the answers to questions I have been asking Carolyn over the last week. We need to have a good showing for the Gold Coast Jeepers as the Qld Jeepers have already got 28 cars confirmed for the weekend. We have decided to open the invite to the LOST KJ's as well so we should have a great bunch of Jeepers attending. I can not stress enough that we have to do everything in our power to respect the property and appreciate the opportunity we have been given to camp with the Qld Jeepers at gatton. To explain this more a comment from one of my emails from Carolyn from Qld Jeepers was, our Club has had to earn the owners trust and they know that we will only bring people, or tell people that we know will respect the use of the property. the site is a private property that is not open to the public. Anyone that went to the Jeep Jamboree in 2006 will remember the property for it's beauty and fantastic scenery. The 4wdring will be easy to medium and the tracks will be mostly about enjoying the spectacular views in the area. We need to be as self sufficient as possible remembering that we will leave the property exactly how we find it. All rubbish is to be taken back out with us and for the smokers, NO cigarette butts to be dropped on the ground. Even though the recent rains have made the creek flow again we need to take in our drinking water and as much cleaning up and showering water as we can. Those that have toilets and showers should take them to ease the stress on the facilities that are there for those that don't have toilets & showers to take. There are two toilets and one wood boiler hot water shower available for use at the camping area. When you consider that there will be at least 28 cars from the Qld Jeepers plus those attending with us you can easily see how the facilities will be stretched during rush hour. At this stage Rikk will be leading a group out on Friday morning to meet up with the Qld Jeepers at Gatton. They are leaving from Gatton at 9.30am for the final stint into the property. Marnie & I will be leaving the coast sometime in the afternoon as I have to work. If anybody is in the same boat and wants to come with us in the afternoon please let me know.

Black Disco RHS = Team JaG son  On an effort to pull out the KK and went straight in the bog.................
I was about to pull him back out but they took a snatch(toyota) from the front of him.. It sparked the following vehicles to show how NOT to get stuck :!: :!: :!: Highlite of the day

It was a great week-end. Quite a number of vehicles (maybe 50+) trails I would rate senic to medium. Country side excellent.

Ladies Day Levuka  .....That's it :!: I'm not sure of the dates :?: .......but I think its 17th 18th May........Mrs Fros will confirm I'm sure
