Now I am pretty sure this has been done to death but, I was reading through the QLD transport rules and it only states Bullbars, now I'm not really interested in a big bar for the front but more of a bumper with better approach angle. Maybe a nudge bar in front as well and recovery hooks. So I was thinking ?, Blah Blah Blah guessh i go on with some rubbish |

You really have to watch it, as anything you put on the front has top be airbag compliant., Otherwise your insurance is null and void. |

I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure. |

Anyone know how to get ADR approval? I presume it would have to be engineered, but what about testing and would it involve smashing a car? |

I don't think it would involve a crash test (if it did, would TJM bother?) but it would certainly require some intense engineering to get accepted. You'd be better off buying one that already complies - I'm sure it would cost you significantly more than $1500 to get one approved. |

sorry to bring this up again but, does anyone know if the TJM bar like Pipeliner's will fit my 2003 KJ if I work something out with the indicators. I just want something light with better approach angle, better protection than that plastic rubbish and some where to mount 2 recovery point's. any help would be appreciated |

You can mount two recovery recovery points to the unibody under the front of the KJ, I think it's the same place as you mount the nudge bar. Not 100% but I think Rosco (GMUD) has some. |

I Talked the local TJM dealer yesterday and he wasn't sure, but the nucge bar is the same for both . I thought it might look sweet with an All J's style indicator mount I will have to ring brisbane today thanks CD |

Rang Geebung and came up with a dead end. They said I would need to measure all the mounting hole's and see if they line up. If they don't then it is a no go because any mod or spacer's mean no compliance. Who would have thought this could be so hard. So can I please measure your's Pipeliner on the Sunday that I will catch up with you all at Deepwater? |

I will be at your disposal for any measurements you require - but I warn you, I'm very ticklish. There is definitely a significant difference between the 2001-2004 KJ's and the 2005-2008 models as far as fitting a front bar goes. I know ECB do a bar for both (they look hideous!) and I think ARB have a bar for the early model, but I'm pretty sure that TJM only fit the later ones. |
