I for one can't wait to start my holidays next Tue, we have no plans other than to clean up around the house and paint the fence. Probably make a few trips to the beach with the family, and if we feel up to it go camping down the coast. |

Our eldest is coming down from central Qld for the holidays, and we'll be out on the boat on Sydney Harbour for our annual Boxing Day Race start party. Also planning to take the boat up to the Myall Lakes for a week of liveaboard activities over New Year. Next trip after that will be Camp Coffs. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and whatever you are doing do it safely, there's a lot of nut cases out there that will be pissed more than usual. |

Spending a couple of days here looking round (went out to Daydream Mine this morning) then down to Adelaide on Friday. Leaving there on the 27th and coming home via the south Vic coast (Liz's uncle) and Yambo (friends). Back in Bris around the 8th Jan. |

Well the Myall Lakes to be precise. Pulled the boat out at Tea Gardens yesterday after a fantastic week of boat camping on the Myall system. Actually had some mobile/net coverage up there for the first time (which allowed me to read up on what was going on here and there). The KJ had no problems hauling the boat and all the stuff that seems to be required to spend a week on the water. I left the KJ and the trailer in Hawks Nest with some friends that were holidaying there. Great weather. Now to get ready for Coffs. |

Ah yes .......I remember the Port Stephens & Myall water systems ...Have visited them many times over the years a great place to live & holiday. We arrived home from Cedun SA yesterday afternoon. The return trip saw us travel through the Gawler ranges (Beautiful ), then down to the ocean for a fish & swim at Cowell (Too windy), so on up through Port Augusta (picked up more supplies) to Wilpena Pound (Flinders Ranges), Then through to Arkaroola before heading up the Strzelecki Track to Innkamincka- camped on the banks of the Cooper River in NP ("Hells Corner" - 42 degree at night, no breeze, swams of flys). Did plan on continuing Nth to Longreach then east to Rockhampton and Deep Water NP. However due to Cyclone in the Nth and a phone call advising of my mums ill health in Newcastle decided to head east to Cunamulla and onto the Gold Coast in case I needed to head Sth to Newcastle (as indeed I am tomorrow) Gawler Rangers
Flinders Rangers
Look - a Wind Mill
Dust - We discovered just as much inside Millie
Arkaroola
Saltwater hole beside the Strze. Track
7,000kms later all I can say is that the KJ performed outstandingly. No issues outside MT ATZ tyres pretty much chopped up on the rocky tracks (rocky desert). Hind sight should have had pressure at 12psi not 20psi |
