Yes, Life just keeps getting in the way doesnt it.

Chris, I cant say, once again the whole life thing. Much happening, maybe some other things as well. Please as I have always said, make your plans, and I'll fit in around them, still having issues with work, car and house, now it looks like Cath is going to move to England for 6mth or a year
No time for myself at the moment, and quiet sick, some flu from overseas at the moment, so not feelling even 2%..

Sick of everything at the moment.

Sorry to hear that Chris. I made up some mean Tomato & Fennel soup the other day for the freezer - want me to pop round with some? Sorry, I can't manage chicken soup!

Hi All,
Thanks for the kind words from everyone, hope you are feeling better Cmohr. All the best for the trip everyone by the way the night temp atm in the simspon is about -2* from a friend in the army passing through in a convoy (army) tuesday 21/7.
Every thing is good spoken with the local diabetes centre have been put on balance diet and medication to manage it so all is good for now and we will see what happens in aug/sep when the next round of tests are due.
So I am still going 4wding in aug/sep but playing in my back yard instead of simspon.
Talk to you all soon. :) :)

So let's see where we are at present - only 4 weeks to go, folks!

Definite starters:

Pipeliners - towing the Odyssey
G'me Muds - towing the Jayco
Team J.a.G - towing? What's happening there?
J&J - towing. Their Paj threw a conrod last week, they are getting a Prado.
NTJeep - tenting?

Cmohr is still a possible, they will be tenting.

Which gives us 2(3) petrol KJs, one CRD KJ, one CRD Grand and one diesel Prado. So everyone will be responsible for their own spares (and fuel!).

The thinking amongst the oldies (Pipeliner, J&J, G'me Mud and Team J.a.G) is that we are not going to enjoy a 3 week trip without our little luxuries just for the sake of a 3 day Simpson crossing. So we are going to attempt the crossing with our trailers (but not Millie!), and if the first day shows that to be impractical we will return to Birdsville and go round the long way. Hopefully that won't be necessary but NTJeep and Cmohr need to be aware that it may happen.

See you all in Birdsville on Monday 24th! If we get there early enough we can go out for our play at Big Red that afternoon.

That is a nice looking camper. Aluminium should be light to tow up hill and down dale.
I can understand Millie being down in the mouth.

I presume you mean the rear tail-gate :?: .........which does open when the tent sections are erected. It is a velco type "rip away" flap.

Got the following email from my sister-in-law last night.

"The itinerary is very exciting and the adventure is not far from beginning. I was hoping that we would be able to have 3 nights in Alice Springs. One the day we arrive from Mt Dare, one to look around the town itself and the other to go out to the West MacDonnell ranges, to see Ormiston Gorge and Standlley Chasm. The rest of the itinerary down to Lake Eyre sounds great. I guess from there we head South East and wend our way back to Wollongong. Sorry for being pedantic about the dates as we are trying, as you know, meet up with Graham and Kylie, so they can join us from Alice Springs to Uluru.
With thanks for your patience and love always ,
Jane"

How does this fit in with everyone else?

Or alternatively,

"instead of doing the West Mcdonnell Ranges as a day trip could we do it as a part of the way to Uluru.ie across Namatjira Drive and do all the gorges and pounds, onto Laparinta Drive to Hermannsburg and Palm valley. Then back track to the Mereenie Loop Road and Kings Canyon and then onto Yulara.
From the serial pest"

That's pretty much what I was thinking. As it is virtually on the way to Uluru

That is what I had in mind we were doing.
