the bumpers come with indicators

you just need to fill in the gap

Cool, that's what I was thinking. Of course more lights never hurt anything

Gee, you know if you could mount in that indicator that would be good.....

Just took a look at a pic Gerard sent me and I don't think there's quite enough room to do it. But a couple of little LED indicators in a fiberglass plug would help out.

i have been a bit slack of late with the fiber glass in fills as I just can't qiute seem to get it way I want it.
Also I'm not entirely happy with the fit up of it so I will be taking it off again to see if I can get it back further
closer to the grill. Jeep Junkie you will most definately have a gap but they might have something to put in it's
place, very good bar though. Mine might see the grinder yet.

STAGE 2 / make it fit better
Ok now this is bringing back an oldie but I finally did some modifiacations to make it fit better
so off with more flare
Image
which then looks like this
Image
off with the bar for a touch of surgery to the winch cradle (cut 15-20mm off)
Image
then clearance the bar a bit
Image
and finally cut out the front so that fairlead holder sits level with the front
Image
and some will remember the 25-30mm gap that I had between the bar and the grill is now 5mm
Image

STAGE 3 / fill in the gaps (this could take me another 12 months)
as we all know I am bit slack and it has taken me 13 months to finally do this but hopefully I will
keep the ball rolling and finish it over the next couple of weeks if I can stay home for once.
The intension is to cut back the wings a touch
Image
and then bend some metal to fill in the gaps with a bit of shaping to follow the curves of the bar

Then it will be time for paint again, I am open to suggestions, should I go White again or a Hammer tone paint
or something funky?

Can the bumper be mounted higher on the body to hide the gaps? If this was covered elsewhere I have missed it.

I must admit, I thought that too the other day. Not sure whats going on down below the bar. it may just expose a little more of the front cross member thats all... Could be a viable solution..

winch cradle is in the way of moving it up (it only lifted up about 5mm), I had to cut and shape the bottom to move it back as well so it sits in pretty snug now.
I will just shape some steel to suit the shape of the bar for the in fill (maybe the shape of the orginal indicators). Any one have any colour suggestions ?

I'm kinda fond of a Metalic Graphite bullbar on a white KJ... seen one "somewhere" and must admit I dont mind it

Hammercote would look cool, like that modded ARD winchbar I posted pics of on AJOR, it was black, but in that coating looked the ducks nuts.

Little bit more done on the weekend, after I fitted my new dog guard I got stuck into the bar again
Image
I just cut some piece's of heavy C channel I had lying around and the shape built from there
Image
its not finished yet, I will have to do some side pieces and fill in a couple of other spots but it will
have come off again for that.
Image
Image
so now I will have to wait a couple of weekends to do more on it but it is finally progressing.

Just thought I would put in an update of the progress on my front bar.

Image

Image

I had this done a couple of weekends ago and was planning on having the new colour splashed on
but of course I had to go and break the compressor :banghead: so now I am waiting for a few parts for it
and then I shall be painting the bar and the grill Belafonte II style, (the grill has a ton of paint chips in it
so I might as well paint it too)

and thought I would put a progress photo of the little fella too

Image

he is 4 1/2 months old in the photo and has grown even bigger now. Man I am not looking forward to his
food bills as he gets older.

Time for an update, I have finally finished the front off. :pepper: :pepper:

I will have to thank Cmohr for the idea as I liked the way BII turned out so I went and
did the same to mine, I am reasonably happy with it, it good be alot better but I had to
rush it as time these days is not on my side. The paint is Silver hammertone from
Supercheap and I ran it through my little compressor and spraygun with no problems
but as you don't thin this paint a litre didn't go far. Time to go and enjoy it now.
