Here's a sneaky peak at GlenD's #1 production unit.
Can't speak highly enough of the service that Glen has given me, above and beyond.
Stealth colour scheme.

Looks Great.... Only thing I would add to it is some tie down points on the top for holding luggage.

Hope to see it soon.

I am officially jealous. That is sharp! The only things I'd change would be the tie downs on top and then I carry my CO2 tank upright in the rear driver corner of the jeep, so I'd need it custom to fit around the tank. I missed the original thread, but If I wanted one of these, how do I get one in the States? Is it shipped as is or is it a set of plans that would come to me or what? The work looks phenomenal.

Hey Inc,

GlenD builds them, here's the link to the original thread: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=45046

He is also doing them in a flat-pack version, to keep shipping cost to O/S down.

Cheers,
M.

I'd love one but....................................

............in order to get the correct drawbar height for my trailer I have to have the tongue upside down which means I can't open the tailgate with the trailer attached - which severly limits the usability of the drawers.

Ah shucks Mikey, thanks for the kind remarks.

INC has been in touch via PM and were talking.

Cmohr, yes deck tie downs are something that I have thought about, the problem is they appear to affect my liability - if I put them on do I have to get ADR crash test approval for the loaded Unit (complete with tied down load, and what is a reasonable load, etc), and what are my responsibilities in relation to warranty, etc. There needs to be more investigation and information before I can commit to mounting them during the build. So for now I see deck tie downs as something I would like to leave to the buyer to add as an aftermarket add on. The Unit weighs 23kg complete, and uses the four tie down points in the KJ, secured with four cam lock straps with a individual rating of 100kg each (400kg total) - sufficient I believe for securing the Unit and its likely 'contained load'. The load sitting on the deck is another matter, and as I have indicated to Mikey I believe that anyone installing a Storage Unit of any kind, should also install a Compartment Guard (Mopar # 82206855). I have ordered one for my KJ.

As to enhancements and modifications, I am looking at making fridge slides available. The available space would mean a fairly small/light fridge (Waeco CF35 maybe) if mounted fore and aft, but largers ones are possible if mounted sideways. If anyone has suggestions for design changes, enhancements, etc please let me know your thoughts.

Pipes I understand completely, don't feel you need to explain.

Well the storage unit arrived this arvo, on time as promised, and once unpacked, was an easy one man, 5 minute job to install as per Glen's very thorough install instructions. And as you can see, it has made a huge difference to the storage capability and safety of my KJ.
So thank you Glen, it has been smooth sailing all the way, always kept me in the loop, and gave me lots of options.
Couldn't fault the build quality, all top notch.
If anyone would like to see the unit in person, please feel free to drop me a line.
One happy camper :D :D

It looks good in there Mikey, glad your happy with it. The colour is actually darker (more like the bumper), but the gloss finish and the flash makes it look light grey in the photo. What sort of fridge is that?

Yeah, the colour is a lot lighter than in the flesh.
Fridge is one of those 30 litre waeco coolers, does a good job, and holds a good amount, and cost about $60
