I checked mine - 550mm hub centre to guard lip, and that's with the air bags at 4psi. When I pump up the bags prior to loading on the boat or camper the rear end rises to your sort of levels ( before settling back down when I bleed air out to return to my normal level). I do have some driveline problems when I 'unweigh' (to use a skiing term) the rear axle - say when hitting a bump and the towball weight comes off and the axle extends under the air pressure. At least I think that is the cause of my vibration problem.
I am assuming your bracket will need engineering approval. Does it do the same thing as shimming the transmission and xtra case to decrease the rear shaft rotational running angle? Guess I need to see a drawing to understand it.
