Trying to chase that down now. Hammonds say they can get one from the States, Mansfield say they have to get it from Germany. Morris don't list it on their website, neither do Rock Auto.

Thanks for that Cmohr - I've ordered one from them. US$260 delivered (about A$310) compared to over A$750 from Mansfield - and almost certainly quicker delivery!

Blast!! Apparently it's an "export only" item and not available from a US dealer, so I'll have to start the search again.

Any more ideas anyone? I'll try George at VM in the UK.

I've been in touch with a UK dealer http://www.stockill.com/ who can supply the parts for $225 plus shipping - the Australian retail price is over $700!

I agree, it isn't - and when I put up a picture of the old bearing you'll be even more amazed!

Sorry to see you have trouble Chris, what a bummer to have to can the trip.
For a throw out bearing to go in such a short life I'd quess it's been under water at some stage, (fraser???). Although you would think a sealed and pre lubed bearing would be water tight.

J.a.g has arrived in Broome after successfully nogiating the Gibb River rd & Kalamuru Rd to Honeymoon Bay. We now have less than 2 weeks to get back to the east coast. Kj is going well apart from a lot of dust and rattles.
Will post some pics on our return. cheers

That's right, rub salt in the wounds! At least the Inferno is now back on the road.

Sorry Pipes ....we did miss u guys a lot...... but just think of the fuel money and spending money and food money and lolly money etc. etc. that u have saved.......

I must say though that the KJ did perform well. Given that there is a few rattles and squeaks that weren't there before. New dual battery system did not miss a beat through the countless water crossings, corrigations and dust..very pleased with that result.

I foresee a major dust down & wash plus a major mechanical inspection and service asap.

Fuel was the biggest expense with ULP prices ranging from $1.27ltre - $2.30ltre. I averaged 21.8ltres per 100kms.

Slide nite coming very soon to bore everyone............we're just trying to get the dust out of everything at the moment!!!

Very very nice shots there Greg. Shouldn't taunt Pipes that way, all those beautiful places he couldn't get to.
