Greg, Its that 30k bit that I dont like about that one.. plus the year model. No offence but the interiors in the late models just dont seem to have the same level of finish as the earlier models, thats just my opinion, I know they are all made of plastic, but, the plastic in mine just simply has a better look and feel than later models, and I own the car to be completely happy with every aspect, I could "live" with a newer interior, whereas, when I get in mine I must say I love the look.

The Manual 2003 more my price range, and really what Id prefer,

Plus - 2003 so I can get a long range tank.
No esp - so no issues with a lift - if these new rules come in, any vehicle with esp - means no lift whatsoever will be legal.

Nearly everything I currently have is able to be transfered over - I mean everything, I would transfer my interior over as well and I'll have a spare ARB front bar to sell later.

I wonder if I see if someone from Coffs could go have a look at it for me, or do I do a 7hr drive there myself.

Nice CRD and of course I prefer the auto as well for the daily drive machine, having spent all my year up to the last few in a manual.

One concern about that particular KJ - it has no Provent or plumbing for any obvious alternative oil recovery system. At nearly 40000km the turbo hoses will be saturated with oil from the CCV plumbing (and the intercooler will probably need a clean). You could use that to get the price down. Will need a set of new hoses (Samcos) and abit of other work (Boost Control Sensor cleaning, and fuel filter probably). Make sure they do the 40000km service on their watch (if you buy it) - that way you get a fuel filter on that service interval.

If you don't like the interior find one with leather.

Or this one is a 2003 (so no esp) but it has a brand new engine (2.8L) wonder why but a new engine alone is probably worth half that price. Oh it has the four speed auto whoops

I'll have a spare ARB front bar to sell later. Let me know about this as I'm looking at one from the local ARB at the moment

I wonder if I see if someone from Coffs could go have a look at it for me, or do I do a 7hr drive there myself.I drove through there yesterday. Doh :!:

Well I can't say I ever noticed any difference between my 2002 build KJ and my 2006 build KJ - except of course that at changeover one was virtually new and the other 4 years old!

The Belafonte must have been assembled with a particularly high level of love and attention!

Well, Driving home Yesterday, engine all revs again, (just has it has been lately) slowed down at crawl 20-25kmph or so, then just started to speed up to keep with traffic, not fast accelleration or anything just moving, the car didnt change out of drive (just like normal) just unlockes and revs about 3-3500 and feels really retartded (as usual) then, after a bout 10 seconds of this laboured crawl it did that auto drop down a gear thing (as it usually does) only thing this time, it dropped out of gear completely, no drive, just reved like I was in N, but I was in drive....... I pulled the change leaver into 2nd, and that went in with a clunk and a jump forward so I had drive again..

Funny thing is, after that, the car seems like new... and when I say new, auto working beautifully, no slipping, no driving along with a disconnected feel, heaps of power, not bogging down when going up hills, general driving tacho sits about 500 to 1000 less that yesterday, only need slight bit of pedal to get off the line, and that only needs about 1800 to do that (up till now it needed 2500-3000rpm to move) Maybe something broke, maybe something that was locked up freed itself, maybe alls good, maybe its about to completey grenade, who knows????/

Really, its driving really really nicely, I reckon these something wrong with wiring or the ecu and or TCM it just seems weird......

Sounds like a solenoid pack problem to me, very similiar to a problem I had years ago with an old Ford Explorer (GRRR!).
