Its river beds around here and lots of rocks, and I don't want to have to worry so diff guards will be a must, also lockers. I am normally in cars with lots more ground under diffs with solid axles, I have not used this car in any serious off road conditions yet just some mud and I liked but all the tough stuff was down to my Rangie and the Nissan both solid axles and bigger tyres and they both had diff guards and were both very much saved by them. So I guess this will be a new learning curve having IFS with ltd travel so lockers will be order of the day.
The repair I am having to have done is crazyyyyyy :goink: sand blasting the suspension on front and thats new +tank straps and radiator hanger and chassis rails on rear as they have surface rust and then paint all again the mirrors have play in the motor so they wobble a little not while the car is driving just if you grab them and give them a good hard shake,so i put a screw in the plastic so they dont move at all just temp you cant see that. That is about $800 then they want all the brake shoes changing as they dont have NZ kite mark they are new and ferodo pads and great ones too. :furious: put them on just before we left UK. Yes I agree new brake discs and front brake pipes a bit corroded which got a lot worse in container as that got lost for 3 months. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ winging pom attack there. lotto lotto please :ROTFL:

Hi,

Whos doing your compliance???? A bit anal if ya ask me. :furious: Get them to KEEP the ferodo pads. They WILL meet spec so long as they have an 'E' mark.
The chassis rail thing is common - esp on ex UK and HK cars. Front supension is odd....got receipts for the new suspension? Show them if ya have. Brake rotors get changed on just about every car - if not they are skimmed to go with the new 'E' marked pads.
The rad hangers wouln't need to be done if it had a chassis but......

  At last jeep is back and all done. But wow it was not cheap  and it was sand blasted underneath so kits just like new, also new discs but hey they mess that up, they chipped 1 calliper and that jammed the bake on the way home and that over heated and time I got home smoke and fire scarry  so i got the new calliper and fitted that myself fed up of cowboys.
So got new plates on road and feels good. Went and tried it out today for fist time here in NZ on the river bed area and she workes good smooth and seems to ride well over most types of track. and here is some pics :JEEPIN: if I can find how to post them
