I have heard back from Xandro and he and the family are keen for the reschedule at Upper Colo for the 18-20th of March. So that's Jenko, gi-Frog's, glend, and the xandros confirmed so far.

I have had an email back from the Hawkesbury Council confirming my booking for that weekend. Everyone else will need to pre-book themselves.

Just to re-cap

I'll be up at Upper Colo the weekend of the 18-20th of March with some friends, attending the Campertrailer Group meet at the Upper Colo Reserve right on the river. Having attended this last year I know there are a fair number of tracks in that area. Phil Reid showed me some tracks under the powerlines that the Wollongong Hilux guys use. Of course Wheeny Creek is in that area as well. The Upper Colo Reserve is a big place open to the public but anyone wanting to camp there would need to book with Hawkesbury Council in advance. There are showers and toilets at the reserve but you need to be self sufficient in water and food, etc.

Info on Upper Colo:

http://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/com...ght=Upper+Colo

To book to camp you'll need to email the booking form to Elizabeth at Hawkesbury Council. You can download the form here: http://tinyurl.com/4v777rl .
Email the form to: council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

Sadly, this Camping Trip is on hold pending the agreement on new dates. The Campertrailer Group has objected to our presence at what they see as their campground on the weekend of the 18-19th of March. Given the large crowd on that site anyway, it is preferable to move this to another weekend. We are working on it and will advise soon.

The KJ Camping Trip has been reset for the first weekend of April, still at Upper Colo.

That will be arrive on Friday the 1st, and camp Friday and Saturday nights, leaving Sunday when it suits you.

We will likely have the whole place to ourselves.

Just bumping this back up. This trip is still on and gi-frog is handling the arrangments since i am up in QLd. Anyone wishing to join us on the first weekend in April should book with Hawkesbury Council (have to do that in advance as they don't accept payment at the Upper Colo Reserve.

Cheers

Looking forward to some dry weather. I will be there and plan to arrive Friday hopefully AM.

On my way back to Sydney (at Coffs tonight). It rained steadily from Dysart to Maryborough (where I spent last night) but from Gympie on down to the border it hammered down. I am sleeping on a wet mattress tonight as water forcedits way past the seals of the camper (and I had taped up any gaps as well).

Hi Glen,
Try to be dry and stay warm. It's raining patrols and land cruisers here as well.

Bumping this up to remind people around Sydney that the camping trip (with some 4wding thrown in at Wheeny Creek), is still on for the first weekend in April - which is the weekend after this coming one.

People will be onsite at Upper Colo Reserve from about lunch time Friday and staying until Sunday. Any KJ owners in Sydney who might want to join us are welcome to attend (just need to book with Hawkesbury Council in advance if camping). Day trippers are welcome to stop by.

Probably around noon for me. Phil said he was aiming for that as well. If you need to follow someone in both Phil and I have been there before. I'll know more about my plans by Thursday evening so I'll give you a ring then.

Well I am home now. Great weekend but really disappointing that the turn out was so thin. We had gi-frog, and Phil and Sandra (KJ lurkers here), and myself. Beautiful spot on the Colo River. Warm days and cool nights and no rain!.

We perfected our campire building skills. Did a wood gathering trip up on the Wheeny Creek track and checked out the very serious sandstone steps on the descent near the top (covered in rubber and diff fluid some were).

New wheels and tyres are great and I'm very happy with them (see the AJOR post on that).

I have some camplife pics to but up here soon, and I think Phil has one of me floating down the Colo River in a little inflatable with a XXXX.

Here are the few photos that I have from my camera. Phil will have some more and I'll put those up when I get them.
