That's a lot of days James.
Thank you everyone for a very enjoyable get together, always great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. A special thanks to team JaG. for your efforts in organising.
We had an enjoyable drive up from Armidale to Tamworth then across to Casino for the night(can thoroughly recommend the Casino Village Van park)then up through Kyogle, Rathdowney, Beadesert, it's the first time we have been through that country, nice drive. We are in Brissy now heading north today to get home either tonight or tomorrow.
Regards Ross and Imelda

What the.... 562 days from now (1.54 years) is actually in 2013! I won't be waiting that long either.

So is someone going to start a thread on the November long weekend trip (Woodgate was it)?

As far as planning for the next KJ Gathering, getting word out as early as possible gives us the best chance of getting more to attend. I know of one family that would probably attend but they have two boys at school so for them it would have to be during school holidays - which the retired people tend to avoid because of the crowds.

Also, remember that the 2012 Jeep Jamboree is set for the end of September next year:

http://www.jeepjamboree2012.com.au/

those of us that are SJC members will likely be 'working' that week at the site and leading trips.

Just got home (7pm wed), all's good. CV's are really starting to rattle now, even in 2WD, going to have to change them out. Not bad I 'spose as they first started to rattle about the time we went to Sundown, got 213000ks on them now.

Hi all,

Thanks for making me feel welcome on my first LOST adventure!

I had a very enjoyable time. It was great to hang out with so many other people that dress like their jeeps, with jeeps clothes the unoffical uniform.

Catch you again soon.
Cheers.

Photos of the failed spring are below. It failed at the centre stud hole where the stud sits in the fish plate on the axle (this was a spring over axle configuration). Each spring was rated at 395kg (total of 790kg) and the trailer weighs much less than that (unbraked as it is):

That's unbelievably bad luck :frankie: Did it cause in any other collateral damage??

JAG, there were a couple of dents in the bottom of the trailer tray but nothing that can't be hammered out. The camper body itself is fine it's monocoque, and I did stop before it had a chance to do any real damage. Worst damage was probably to gi-frog's bash plate when the remnants of the spring bounced back under his KJ - I'll pound that out for him and I owe him a new rubber mallet. Camper is laid up for awhile so I can sort out new suspension, might just retire the old box trailer and go with an upgraded platform.

Hi all,
Glen there is no need to bash out the dent, well worn battle scar that my Kj will wear with pride of a great weekend with friends where there was no injuries and no major problems with anyone's Kj and campertrailers.

361 days to go

cheers James

Interesting bit of trivia!!!

LOST (NSW& QLD Chapters)1st Inaugural Run - Coff's Harbour......... 25-26 Aug 2007

LOST (NSW& QLD Chapters) 2nd Run - West Kunderang Recreational Retreat...........................26-29 Aug 2011

Intersting that we seem to choose the same date 4 years apart  :?

If I then look at the QLD Chapter Fraser Island excursion............ 29/8-4/9 2008

End of August seems to be a good time to get together :seuss: :JEEPIN: :CAMPING:

Folks, for those that really really loved this area, I noticed that a similiar property is actually for sale on ebay. A little smaller for sure, and you'd need to ford the river to get to it (forget access when its in flood). It's off the Kempsey Road abit closer to the coast. Photos certainly similiar.
