I have managed to install a GDE TCM (with flash) in my auto KJ. The installed unit was a loaner from STU to see if I could come up with a process and instructions for his potential customers. There apparently has only been one unit installed in a RHD KJ and that guy is not talking. I can see why, it took me two hours to get the old one out and another hour to get the new one in but I think those times will be much shorter now that I know the 'Eureka' method which I discovered after I nearly gave it up last night. A write-up and photos will be coming in a few days.

Tested it late last night, and its great to be rid of that 80kmph hunting between gears.

Of course you manual guys will be laughing. :goink:

As per my previous post on this subject , I have installed a GDE TCM in my KJ CRD, and it is working just fine. So yes, it can be done on RHD models, despite my previous statements that it might be impossible. Thanks to Stu for providing the TCM so I could explore the installation process. I have written up the install procedures (with photos) for STU to provide to his Australian customers.

Anyone considering the GDE TCM who might want to have a look at the install guide just PM me your email address and I will send it out to you. At this point it is still my intellectual property.

Cheers
