At the end of next September (starting on the 27th for four days), the Sydney Jeep Club will be hosting the 2012 Jeep Jamboree. I'd like to see a sizable KJ group for this one and encourage everyone to see if they can make it and come along for a great time in the Blue Mountains. The Jamboree camp site will be the Rydal Showground:

http://www.rydal.com.au/

Map is here:

http://www.lisp.com.au/~rydalshow/index.htm

I hope we can get a KJ camping area setup within the Showground.

BTW this is not a Showground like at Camp Coffs, there are no busy roads anywhere near this location, the nearest sizable town is Lithgow, and it is the stepping off point for the many Blue Mountain tracks and trips that SJC members will be conducting (at all levels) over the four days of the event.

I know for sure that DaveG, and I will be there. Hopefully this will be a major KJ Gathering for 2012.

Checking the driving distance calculator, it shows 1007kms from Brisbane to Lithgow (and you don't have to go through Sydney to get there). The shortest route from SEQLD appears to be down the Newell Highway (Ipswich, Armidale, Tamworth, Muswellbrook, and down the Mudgee road to Lithgow).

From the south (Melbourne for example) the distance is 960kms through Albury, Wagga Wagga, Cowra, etc).

Hope to see you there.

We've put it on the calendar. Can't guarantee attendance as we haven't sorted next year out yet, but it sounds like a good idea.

Great, I hope it works out for you guys. Yes, Rydal Showground has been booked by SJC for the last week of September and first week of October (bump in and out time as well). I think the amenities trailers have been advanced booked as well (nice ones like at Jambo 2010, not the Camp Coffs ones.) Trip reccie's are happening all the time now. I'm not on the Committee but the info is accurate based on what the general membership is hearing.
