Liz is back working full-time (for the next month or so) and so A-Day has been scheduled as an Aunt Mary Day.

Sorry!

Well, we hope everyone had a gr8 Australia Day...............................JaG spent the day evacuating to temporary housing, as all this rain has shorted the under ground power lines on our property. Energex reported 2 of the3 phase lines were gone and ttherefore needed to shut down supply at the street. Some where between the meter board and the street pillar is the problem.

Tomorrow will be spent with electrician trying to locate issue along the 200m drive way :banghead: $$$$$ Probably won't be able to re-occupy for a few days into next week@&*^%&^%@#!!

Presumably that is Energex's problem and not yours! At least I sincerely hope so. And why do you need a 3ph supply?

Bummer.... hope it gets sorted soon for you, It's a real inconvience when stuff like that happens. Its one year on from when we were surrounded by flood waters.

Not Energex's problem between the Street Pole and my meter board. House insurance claim.

3ph?? Not sure to be honest. I know I've got AC on one phase general house on another and ??

Just returned from the house after inspecting & discussing the issue with electrician and a technician from a fault detecting service out of Brisbane. It seem the fault is 90% confirned about 1/3 up the driveway. Rain is forecast until mid week ....so excavations can't happen until at least then. So we will be in temporary quarters for a while yet!!!Maybe we should go camping??? Like do the Great Central Hwy now???

Make sure you park the cars at the top of the drive before work starts, otherwise you'll be totally locked in! Still, hopefully it's a one day job unless the fault isn't where they think it is!

This is TRUE (good exercise)...However we won't be in residence until after works are complete and successfully restored power..........

So any plans to head down there again ? looks like a good spot, i am sure we would be keen in the future. Wasnt that rain we had a bummer!! We had a trip planned out to Janowen 4wd park for a few days and had to pull the pin on that also.

So how far is Brooms Head from the gold coast ?

Shouldnt be too long to dry out as far as i know the water is alot further down south and west. I am sure the locals down there have had enough of water also, much like us on the gold coast just with out the flooding.

Fingers crossed we can all get away for a couple of days sometime soon.
