Post subject:  KJ Air Pressure Mapping

I've had the occasional problem with heat build up when towing is fairly high temperatures - the best example is a 36C day coming out of Rocky heading up to Dysart. I know that others have reported problems from time to time, and Phil seems to continually have overheating issues when he goes bush. I removed the engine cover years ago, and recently I removed the under bonnent insulation blanket (which seem to be there just to control noise).

I ran across a number of good articles on air pressure mapping of vehicles to determine if and where venting should be done to improve cooling, breathing, etc. These are the Autospeed series listed here:

I have a diffential air pressure gauge (same one used by Autospeed) and have spent some time over the past week mapping the air pressures around the front of the KJ, over the bonnent, inside the engine bay, etc and have posted up my results in the CRD forum section here on LOST:

I've also put the same information in my Bonnent Venting thread on AJOR.

I am sending the gauge and hoses down to Phil so that he can do similiar testing on his KJ, as each one is configured slightly differently and then we will compare data. Ultimately I hope to come up with a better heat dispersal system that keeps the temps down when it gets hot.
