I am not sure that the 2010 standard applies to old cars; I think it means all diesels sold new must meet the new standard exactly the same as gassers. This quickie article also disregarded the reductions in NOx that some biofuels, like BlueSun biodiesel here in CO, bring, with a 12% reduction in NOx. But the bluetec seems to really be making strides in emissions! -macjack |
