The following article from MIT outlines a promising technology that combines plug-in hybrids becoming a resource to charge during off-peak and feed the grid during peak periods. To me it seems to be one of the more promising concepts to reduce our demand on foreign energy and make pollution more controllable at a single source generating plant rather than 100 million tail pipes.
