Does anyone have direct experiance converting a gas engine to Compressed Natuaral Gas?
If so, can you please give details and pros/cons?

haven't messed with this type of conversion since the 70's. My guess it would have to be a non-computerized engine. Else you would have to have an entire new ECU. The injection process would be similar. CNG is a common option you can get with a new vehicle ordered from the manufacturer. GM and Ford have been offering CNG as a fuel option for years.

If yours is a more modern engine, you might be able to convert by getting the ECU from the same engine you have but was delivered to run on CNG. Of course the guts for the fuel delivery would have to be installed including different injectors. I would have to assume that you would have to have a real good reason to justify the cost. You would probably be dollars ahead in just ordering a new vehicle that comes from the factory using CNG. It would probably cost more than a gasoline vehicle, but far cheaper than converting one yourself.
