One possibility is that these gents are simply trolling for investors with a smoke and mirrors routine, and once the well is dry, they'll simply disappear and never be heard of again. Having been involved in the EV (electric vehicle) community for nearly 15 years, I've seen that scam played out more times than I can count. The statement that they don't have anything down on paper and keep all the details in their heads, in essence saying they haven't applied for a patent or other copyright protection to protect their discovery, and scurry away with their device after each demo, apparently not willing to submit it to independent testing and examination, gives this story that same flavor of a scam in the making. Another possibility is also a familiar scenario from the EV community - they have come up with a genuine device that does offer an improvement over the industry state of the art, but while they may be gifted researchers and technicians when it comes to the science behind it and the development of the device, they don't know squat when it comes to navigating corporate waters and bringing their device to market, and the business part of the deal ends up falling flat on it's face. |

retmil - Thats my take as well. My bet is that they are trolling for government funding, hence the elistment of a politician. You can milk such funding for years, even decades without really producing anything. I do not think their proposal is impossible necessarily, but I also do not think its as simple as proposed, and I have difficulty believing that a couple of fellows in Wales figured out something that researchers, engineers and corporations have been trying to figure out for decades. While that kind of invention does happen, its not at all common... |
