Sorry, I was out for a while. took some time to rest after my auto accident. I helped designed/implemented the Next Generation Telematics system for this vehicle. It was a fun project to be part of.

Unfortunately I have no influence in body style or interior design lol. I wish I did. I just do the geeky stuff.

Is any of that cool geeky stuff going to go industry wide, or is it just for Honda?

teckman, the original plan was to price cheaper than the Nissan Leaf and still have the furthest driving range. I believe that put the pricing around 30k plus government incentives to bring it down further.
Now as vehicle comes out I am finding out that they played it extremely conservative and limited production to something around 1100 and are only offering a lease. I dont understand that move but they tend to be extremely conservative these days. So, because charging stations are currently limited to so cal and some cities like nyc, those will be the only places that the vehicle will be available. I dont have the direct knowledge of these things so I am not positive this is fact.

arengant, as far as the technology I worked on, it will be spread across to all future EV vehicles as well as the entire Acura line. The inner workings and features are different of course but NGT will remain. Its cool stuff, but the real cool stuff is in the new NSX. Wish I got to work on that. As for other manufacturers having this technology; BMW was the first. I believe Toyota is incorporating it for the future as well. GM has it. Once something breaks loose in the auto industry others jump on to compete pretty quickly.
