Post subject:  General biodiesel precautions/requirements

Looking for general precautions/advice as I start putting B99 in my tank. Are all the hoses resistant, filter needs, etc. I'm in CA and temp is not generally an issue, I'll throw some dinofuel in when I go to the mountains...

Any rubber hoses will need to be replaced by silicone fuel line.

Keep an eye on the injector return lines. If you see any seepage, replace them with silicone as well.

I STRONGLY suggest that if you don't have an in-tank lift pump, get it done ASAP.

Be aware that bio-Diesel combustion flame is slower than normal diesel. You may have better torque at low RPM but as you rev, your peak power is likely to be less, and it will smoke more.

Thanks, I'll get on the lift pump and do the main fuel line with silicone. Do you think the running temp should be the same for bio, or would it make sense to bring it up with an inline thermostat? Just curious...

Inline thermostats are are bad thing! Avoid. A properly working OEM thermostat will be fine.
