Salt River Campground sounds nice -
http://www.hikercentral.com/campgrounds/125197.html

However, the Mark Twain State Park (campground) sounds really nice.

I always prefer state or national parks over private campgrounds. Your thoughts?

Doesn't really make a difference to me. I'm mainly looking for places not too distant from the park. But, if someone has a personal experience with any of the places I listed, or somewhere else that can be recommended... I'm all ears.

Never camped in that part of the state so it doesn't matter to me either. How far away is Mark Twain State park ? It does look nice and might have a little more space between campsites.

Per google maps, the Mark Twain Campground is quite a distance... 30+ miles. :?

Yeah. I obviously didn't realize that. I only mentioned it because one of those private camp grounds stated on their website they border the state park. I forget which one? 30 miles is too far regardless.

I plan to camp at this campground:

Injun Jo Campground
14113 Clemens Dr
New London, MO 63459-3010
(573) 985-3581‎
http://www.clemenslanding.com

I plan to call them on Monday... maybe I can see if we can get some sites next to each other. Who thinks they'll camp here - so I can get an idea of how many sites to request.

Sounds good to me. We will only have one tent.

Thanks for the legwork Jayme. I'll take one tent spot (just one tent).
