What day are you going to be there in KC for sure? Weekdays won't work, I wouldn't make it up there till 9pm. Even Springfield is too far for weekday. My training schedule is VERY rigid, I don't get home till 5pm- leave the house at 5 am, gotta love the army

Normally, I would be there over a weekend, but unfortunately I’m not coming back for vacation. This trip is strictly business with a little BBQ on the side.

I’ll be back again this Summer and Fall. How much longer are you going to be stationed there? Thanks for what you do!

Can't make it up on a weekday. You should take the southern route home and take you to "Pig in pig out" the National Grand Champion BBQ for 2010.The best ribs anywhere.

35 south to OK city then west all the way home. Or the scenic route 50 west out of wichita then 56 all the way to the rocky mountains.

Well, that's definitely the southern route. Where's "Pig In Pig Out" located?

Close to downtown Wichita. Three blocks off 35 interstate.

Hmmmm, I can get on highway 54 at Wichita and take 54 through Liberal, Ks - Guymon, Oklahoma - Dalhart, Texas, and get back on I-40 at Tucumcari, NM. It’s hard to find biodiesel in Kansas, so my last drink of B20 is in Guymon, Oklahoma. I really need a transfer tank.

Maybe we'll organize a BBQ event in which the majority can make it.

Maybe we can arrange something this summer before you go. Do you know where you are going next?

Not yet, I've requested Hawaii, but Virgina is more likely.

So how did your trip go? Meet up with anyone at all?

Thanks for asking. We just got home last night. The trip went well - no tire blow outs, etc. We were on a fairly tight schedule in Missouri, so I took a rain check with the Lizard. We tried out a new BBQ spot in Kansas called WE-B-SMOKIN, located not too far out of the K.C. area. It’s a small BBQ joint at a rural airport. You can watch planes fly in and pick up BBQ and fly out. President Obama ate there a few months ago, so it’s gotta be good, eh?

Usually MtnLuvr is easy to meet up with; however, this time he said he was working insane long hours/days/weeks and couldn’t make it happen, plus he’s been working in Idaho. So I didn’t meet up with anyone from LOST. I thought we might hookup with kskj in Wichita, but it was midnight when we passed through on the way there and 6:00 AM when we passed through on the way home. Not a very successful trip for meeting up with LOST Jeepers, but we did get a fair amount of business taken care of, plus I bought another gun at Cabela’s.

Glad it went well! We had some local BBQ catered at work last night, boy it was good! I haven't had anything like that; coming from the west coast, BBQ consists of cheap store bought food!

I hope to meet up with you and the other local LOST guys before I leave, I just wish I had more free time!!!!!!!!!
