I just found a newer HP.... Windows XP version 2002 with service pack 3

This should work fine for my tune needs? Yes or No?

Thanks,

Tom

Windows 7 should be able to run XP programs.

I could probably sell you my old Gateway laptop with XP software, but it has a bad battery. You would have to keep it plugged in the whole time.

Yes, that will work just fine, that is what I have used in the past and still currently use....
reflashed my OBC over a dozen times using my old xp laptop.
Be sure your laptop battery is fully charged before attempting any reflashing and be sure you have any wireless services (internet) turned OFF before any reflash activities...

how long does it take to flash a tune in and do you put the key to on position or have the jeep started when flashing.

Takes about 2 to 3 minutes to re-load a flash! Key on and off at different phases of the flash, software tells you what to do as far as key on/off... Never done while engine is running!!!!

With obd programs, xp is the perfered opperating system. Windows 7 and above will work but depends on the obd developers specs on the software. Windows 7 and above have the compatibility mode setting but 9 times out of 10 doesn't work.

So I'm glad I see xp being utilized for this obd software.
