what about a hard pipe like on a big boy diesel? Anyone done this? I would assume that this would be the best solution, with the highest price. Thoughts, I'm going to ask a few local exhaust shops. Cheers! |

Some of the older diesels had steel CAC lines, but this increases your clamps from 4 to 8 since you need little rubber couplers on both ends. This makes it easier for a leak path to develop. The steel lines also resonate so you hear more turbo whistle...this could be good or bad depending on your preference. |

I got Samcos in black recently, and I think the fit and finish is excellent. They fit the engine bay without screaming "aftermarket!". I got the Turbologic clamps but I wish I hadn't. They are so much wider than factory that they barely fit on the lands of the turbo outlet or engine inlet. I was getting a whistling leak until I replaced those 2 with the OEM clamps. Also I don't think this needs to be a sticky anymore, it's been pretty well hashed out and could be found in a search. |

Well, it seems to me that the origin, original equipment had issues which have been resolved. It appears that the currently available OEM or the Samcos are both decent products now. Does this sum it up okay? |

before I replaced mine with Samcos, Keith at GDE showed me the new set of OEM hoses and pointed out that only one of them had the upgraded silicone inside. I think it was the one that ran on the passenger side. |

My CAC (passenger side) disintegrated last week from oil saturation. It was seeping oil everywhere and when I tried to clean it with the intention of taping it up to hold until the replacement came, more just kept coming off. In the end I dried it as best I could and wrapped it with packing tape, then duct tape. This held until my Samco hoses arrived today. They are nice hoses. The cost difference was only $80 and I got the clamp kit. I would recommend to others to skip the clamps, they are no better than the factory clamps and the factory clamps have the springs in them, which I think help keep pressure consistent. When I changed the hoses I realized that the drivers side hose was in bad shape too. It's a good feeling to have them replaced. |

I know this thread is dead but i just had one of the new mopar hoses split on me after just 45000 miles just alittle bit more then the OEM one it replaced. And it split worse then the orginal so now to go Samco and get rid of this problem and my nasty looking engine bay. OEM better replacement my butt not falling into that trap again. Plus 1 week wait for the OEM and only 11 days max for the Samco. One OEM hose for 180 or full Samco for $263 shipped easy call on my part. |

Passenger i tried to sleve so i could atleast continue to drive the jeep. I took a big heavy piece of radiator hose and cut it in half and wrapped it around the old hose where it split. Turned the jeep back over ran great so i pulled out of the drive way and gave it some gas and it split worse. So pulled it back in and it still sits there waiting while i drive the Mini S. |

The OEM boost hoses with the orange interior do not have a silicon lining and will allow oil to bleed through, thus weakening the hose integrity over time. Chrysler only upgraded the CAC hose from the turbo to intercooler, this one is thinner than the original and all black inside and out. Samcos are the way to go if the stock hoses fail. |

Well it is done now all black Samcos and now i have a spare hose. Unless someone wants it. It only has about 40,000 miles on it and doesn't have any soft spots that i can find. Willing to sell it for cheap plus shipping. |

Black Samco's were all sold out, so I ordered Blue and installed them with the TurboLogic clamps. My home made oil separator keeps the oil out of the CAC hoses. Did not want a hose blowing out on the way to the airport. BoostController.com is a good outfit. |

I got my Samcos from Boost Controler yesterday and installed them today. A dirty job but pretty easy. I have 63,800 miles on the stock originals. They were still pretty oily inside and showed some signs of bulging but I saw no signs of them about to split anywhere. I have not been putting oil through them for the last 38,000 miles though. I changed the fuel filter while I was at it. It ran a lot better so I assume it was really needing to be changed. I followed the directions in the tech section and it went like clockwork. |
