Current car list:

Thanks go to:
-Nicktb for starting this, offering up his vehicles for experimentation, finding a cheap flasher that can make this work and 811 EGR/FCV delete and tuning information.
-Yeti for providing the EGR/FCV for the 808 delete part and insite

You need this, MPPS V13.02 USB:
Image

I have seen these on ebay for $18.XX US and free shipping.

You may see:
V13
V13.02
V13.02 version 2
V13.02 version 3
but I think that most of the units are exactly the same.
I ordered V13.02 and the cable is labeled V13 only.
The software is V13.02.

Pick one up that has the updated vehicle list and includes:
-Chrysler 300C 3.0L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31-8 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler Commander 3.0L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31-8 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler Grand Cherokee 2.7L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler Grand Cherokee 3.0L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler Jeep Cherokee 2.5L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler Jeep Cherokee 2.8L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler Jeep Cherokee 2.8L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler Jeep Cherokee 3.0L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.2L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.2L CRD Bosch EDC16C2-9 K-Line/CAN
-Chrysler Voyager 2.5L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler Voyager 2.8L CRD Bosch EDC15C2 K-Line
-Chrysler Voyager 3.0L CRD Bosch EDC16CP31 K-Line/CAN

I have Windows7-64bit and XP-32bit and with both I had to manually install the drivers for the cable.
-Install MPPS software and run MPPS.exe
(if MPPS asks for version and serial no. you will need to run MPPS by right clicking the icon and choosing "Run as administrator")
-Plug in cable
-Manually install drivers from Windows Device Manager under USB Controllers
>search for the "C:\MPPS\Device Driver" folder for drivers

Image

The software allows you to id your ecu, read and save your current map and write a modified map back to the ecu.

You need to choose:
- for 2005-2007 = 2.8L CRD Bosch EDC 16CP31 K-Line/CAN
- for 2003-2.8 = 2.8L CRD Bosch EDC 15C2 K-Line

After Read (F2), you need to determine what software version you have.
The easiest way is just open it with Windows Wordpad.
Here is the first line of my 808:
X Ò@ Ž 1037380808P53363K0 ¼ˆ§ˆ@
The 1037380808 number is shown.
Note that the older 1/2meg binaries don't show the version on the first line; just use Wordpad's Find function to look for "1037" in the text.

ECM Titanium software can also do this.
ECM Titanium is software that can be used to modify maps or just see what the programmer did to your tune.
It is not required.
I can't provide a legitimate download for it.
See next post for some examples.

If you do use Titanium, note that it may designate the hardware differently than MPPS:
-2003-2.8 (Europe) will show as EDC15C2, software 1037366603, ECM Titanium driver J063_603
-2005 (American) will show as EDC16C31, software 1037380811, ECM Titanium driver CXXX_811
-2005 (Europe) will show as EDC16C2-9.9X, software 1037380809, ECM Titanium driver JXXX_809
-2006 (American) will show as EDC16C2-9.9X, software 1037380808, ECM Titanium driver CXXX_808
-2006 (American-?) will show as EDC16C2-9.9X, software 1037377526, ECM Titanium driver C475_526
-2006 (Europe) will show as EDC16C2-9.9X, software 1037377513, ECM Titanium driver C594_513
-2007 (Europe) will show as EDC16C2-9.9X, software 1037380812, ECM Titanium driver CXXX_812
-2007 (South American?) will show as EDC16C31xxx-.813, software 1037380813, ECM Titanium driver JXXX_813
For every 2005-2007 example so far that has been sent to me, the hardware has been labeled as EDC16C31 for the "Info" button.

Safety notes:
-it is safer to have the Jeep's battery on a charger when doing this
-it is safer to have your laptop plugged into AC
-turn off wireless, bluetooth, screen saver, widgets and any other application that may steal cpu resources
-keep a copy of your original read file

If you modify a map, you need to finish the changes by calculating the checksum (that "represents" the data).
The ECU will verify that the write was completed correctly via this checksum.

Maps are not ECU specific only software specific. The modified map in my 2006 Jeep will work in someone elses 2006 but not in some others 2005.

Please refrain from contacting members by PM en masse for maps.
(note, Dropbox may request you to sign up. If you don't have the option at the bottom to just download, cancel and try the download again. No need to sign up.)
Use at your own risk.

Note about glow plug management:
This hasn't changed for years. If you updated your 7 volt glow plugs to 5 volt and had to have the ecu flashed, it was because you didn't have the latest 7 volt map.
If you have the latest 7 volt map, you can use either 5 or 7 volt glow plugs.
see: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83328&hilit=GLOW+Plug+management+got+it

So if you are currently running 5v glow plugs, you will be able to use any of the appropriate tunes below.

It looks like I still have the 7v glow plugs. If I read this correctly (If you have the latest 7 volt map, you can use either 5 or 7 volt glow plugs.) I can use the 808 or 811 with mild tune to remove the cel, or am I screwed trying to remove the FCV/EGR cel codes?

If you have a 2005 model you might have a 811.
If you have a 2006 model you might have a 808.
The only way to know for sure is to run the MPPS software to read your tune.
If you have a 811 or 808 then you have several options for tunes to load into your ECM.

Thank you for the info. I'll plug it in this weekend and have a look. I was thinking I would go with the Yeti 811 EGR/FCV with mild tune as a starting point.

Flash it's right , do an ecu id and on the right you see the info , read the ecu , it take about 5 minutes and you know for sure what you have inside the ECU

Hello everybody, I am new to this topic.
This is a great thread filled with so much detailed info on the ECU.
I have read all 46 pages (which took a long time).
Thank you very much for everyone who had contributed to this amazing ECU tuning capability that you developed over the past few years.

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD, which I purchased new from the dealer in North Carolina (summer 2006, last diesel the dealer had).
My intent is to install a tune to delete the EGR / FCV. More power or more fuel economy would also be nice.
I purchased the MPPS V13 cable from Amazon.
I successfully installed MPPS software, ECM Titanium, and Win OLS in a windows 7 laptop. (could not get it to work on windows 10).

I have been working on this for the past week by following instructions listed on this thread.
MPPS was able to ID my ECU:

VIN No' : 1J4GL58586W254***
Chrysler Ecu Type : BOSCH EDC16C/C2-9.9
Chrysler File No' :1037377516
Chrysler Software No' : 56044776BA
Chrysler Factory No' : CA6VU62K4XX02
Bosch Ecu Version No': RB Cnt-No CR3K/624C
Bosch Prodution No' : RB SW-No  2.8l/118K
Ecu found on Kline.

When I open the .bin file wordpad or notepad, it shows: 1037377526P53362K4
(I guess this means that I have software 526, I think this is a bummer)

I pulled the original .bin file into ECU titanium, which automatically found maps using driver C475_526-JEEP CHEROKEE 2800 CRD 163CV.
Modifying this file is something that is still way over my head. I have never done this stuff before.

So, I have a few questions:
Can someone who is more skillful in this please let me know if my readings are correct?
Do I really have 516 or 526 ECU software even though it is a American 2006 model?
Are the any special tunes available for the 526? (I did not see any listed :5SHOTS: on the first page)
Is it possible to simply install the 808 or 811 software in place of the 526?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for all of your help in advance.

you have a 526 , but the management is the same of the 808 and you can copy the map on your 526

OK, thanks for the info Yeti. I will try tom copy maps from the 808 to the 526.
Another question: has anyone tested out the "Greybeast-526-EGR_FCV_delete-stock.bin" that I saw posted a while back? (it is not posed on the first page, so I do not know if it is tested and reliable).
This might be a good place for me to start modifying instead of using my own original .bin file.
Thoughts?

So I did the ECU read and I have an 811 (10373808811_399430 (as read). Can I download and install the EGR/FCV delete with mild tune located on page 1? Also, since I am a first timer at this process, do I download the file (in a separate file from the original ECU file of course), then go the MPPS app and click on "write" and select the tune file I wish to upload to the ECU and pray it all goes as planned?

Hey everyone , I've have followed this post for a little while now and have read through everything

I've pulled my file and have version 516 .

There have been a few references to people having 516 , but haven't seen any posted that I use to compare and reference for mine, I PM'd them but haven't had any luck getting in touch with them.

Does anyone that is active on this thread have 516 or any insight on how I could compare it to another version?

Thanks,
Mike

It's done
Worked without any issues. Going to start socking some money away for a TC then hit up Yeti for the custom tune. No more CEL and some better power from the mild tune.

Before I had a chance to load the tune I had issues related to the previous owner following MOPAR'S oil spec and the bearings in the rocker arm seized destroying the camms. :banghead:

I am now back running and was able to load the tune I posted on page 42 and can report it works fine :pepper:
