Post subject: | ECM, TCM REVISION LEVELS, HISTORY |
Intent is to document firmware revision levels on member's KJ CRD powertrains Purpose is to determine causatives for powertrain and control problems. Scope is to determine resolution of those problems Please list alpha\numerical information printed on the paper tags on your ECM, on the left front fender, and the TCM, on the right front fender - it will usually be in the format shown below. The original Flash date (in Julian Date format) of the ECM and TCM can be determined by reading the bold highlighted numbers below - this ECM label is probably a reflash, but the original production label should be similar - the date code on this TCM would be 211thd day of 2005 The 00:28:05 number indicates the time, in hour:minute:second format, the module was flashed, tested, passed quality control approval and the label was generated NOTE: do not list any VIN information for personal security reasons Thanks Example: *Mfg. date 2115 = 8/05 ECM P56044 776BB 0281012595 061005 1039517292 69005 1856 0021 TCM P/N P56044737AG S/N TOATH2115A113F 00:28:05 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Data: 2005 ECM P56044562CA - 0B7D6BC1 TOOED3384A1486 TCM P56044737AF - 5157C3B9 TOATH3494A10C0 Spare '05 ECM ECM P56044562CA Spare '06 ECM P56044776AD ----------------------------------------------------- ECM and TCM revision level listing ______________________________________ 2005 KJ 2.8L AUTO US ECM 56044562AF 56044562BA 56044562BB 56044562BC 56044562BD 56044562BE 56044562BF 56044562CA 56044562CB 56044562CC 56044562CD 56044562CE 56044562CF --------------------------------- TSB's 18-009-05 18-009-06 18-018-05 18-023-06 18-038-05 REV. Rough shift noted but okayed by dealer, hmmm again. RFE TRANSMISSION DETAILS, might be handy for tracking when the so called newer TC's started being used, the OEM ones that handle 460 nm and fit in the kj as well. I dont know how to find out about the TC in my 2007 KJ CRD though. TITJ040710748 timestamp 17:53:40 P52119462AE RFE 462 |

The ECM was made 10JAN07, the TCM was made 19MAR07, the ECM upgrade was 20APR07 - there's a list of TSB's on several forums, here, and some info in the ScanguageII thread and on Wikipedia concerning how to read and poll data on the CAN bus, which the SGII will do in X-mode - may be able to poll for current revision level, like with VagCom - Autoenginuity may be able to do that also, but I don't get much chance to use either on the KJ - not much help, but I'm stranded on a deserted island in a sea of KJ's............ |

OK first off, the original stickers on my ECM are gone, I guess this was the work of the dealer who flashed good ole F37. Here is the data I was able to see: Mfg. date 5-05 of my CRD ECM P56044 562CC Other numbers on ECM: 207040 FE5UA Original TCM P/N P56044737AF now flashed to 56044737AJ S/N TOATH1365A184T 14:19:05 Junkyard Gem TCM P/N P56044737AF S/N TOATH1685A190U 09:18:05 Notes: Shift points are different and more MPG friendly with the junkyard gem TCM. |

Post subject: | Re: ECM, TCM REVISION LEVELS, HISTORY |
Hello all, I am 18 and I just got an 05 CRD and I want to learn as much as I can about it. So I am trying to figure out what my ECM and TCM should be programmed to. The previous owner had the GDE hot tune and the Suncoast billet torque converter and shift kit installed. As well as the transmission GDE trans tune & trans go shift kit. Unfortunately I dislike the shifting pattern and I often get the shudder (although I have learned how to drive to avoid it). I honestly can't complain about the low end torque and the FUEL mileage. I am thinking about getting the ECM and TCM reset to factory fresh and then starting over with the in motion tuning options. Also where can I get another ECM and TCM and anyone know how much they run and how hard they are to swap. Thanks a bunch in advance Aspangler |
