This thread is to document your experiences with any add-on power modules, such as EDGE TRAIL - any that plug-in to the Rail Pressure sensor or\and the MAP (Boost) sensor - these merely offset the sensor outputs to the ECM, such that it thinks the outputs are less than it wants, and so increases fuel to compensate - result = more power to the masses! Post ease of installation, features, power levels, and how they are selected - switch, jumper\rewire, continuously variable control Again, EDIT your original post to include later information Thanks ykw |

SP Diesel Stage 2 
Installation: Easy to medium Connects to: Rail pressure and boost sensor How it works: Increases boost and fuel pressure Feauters: 10 power levels: FE,0...HO, adjustable idle fuel pressure, vehicle theft prevention, adjustable on the fly (while driving), Headunit in cabin Personal experience: 0-60 in under 10s, big increase in torque, no increase in fuel mileage. Plug-and-play installation. |

Same as above from Endurance. Would just like to add that it will not start on setting 10 but will go to 10 once the motor is running. It seemed to run rougher at idle the higher the setting, and the power difference from stock is immediately noticeable. |

Installation: Easy, box goes under the hood Connects to: Rail pressure Features: plug and forget! no settings on the version I have (please update if you have a recent model! Personal experience: Increase dramatically the amount of black smoke when you floor it, but the torque is incredible. No increase in fuel mileage except for the fact I floor it too often just for the fun of it! |

Ditto on the Predator. Easy install/removal, more power, more smoke on WOT, but I am getting 2MPG better than without (when I can keep my foot off the pedal  )

Scorpion plugs into the fuel rail. 5 min install. Stock plus 3 settings on the box. No MPG increase, but more fun to drive. Very little smoke if any. Travis |

I have a HHO Generator attached to my air intake. I am not gett better miles per gallon. I am getting much more power while hauling, start ups. I may go through a set of brakes faster because the engine doesn't slow down as much when I am approaching a stop sign. My tail pipe no longer has a 1/8th inch layer of soot...just a very thin layer. I am looking for a fuel saving module to help cut down on the fuel usage as the map sensor doesn't do sh*t for this even when I do not need the power. Jim |

I have the DR Performance module with remote for over a year, Works great! really increases mileage and power. Only downfall it really gives low end torque, My TC will chatter in 5th if really lugging up hills or towing, I dial back to correct. But around town I turn all the way up! Mileage increase about 2+ in city and 3-4 hwy. Really holds gears lower with out upshifting! I am ready for the suncoast TC!!!!!!!!! Cliff

hey forenic, do you see any trouble codes? any limp modes? any reason i wouldn't put this in my "wifes" oil burner? she says its not easy to drive and i think she's not liking the turbo lag... thx mike |

FWIW, after great consideration, I penciled out that I would break even in gas savings in 9-12 months of driving if I went with the GDE Eco tune (I drive over 20k/year). I also got the unlimited torque option. I've seen an increase in mileage of about 2 mpg over the past 3k miles. My breakeven will come faster as fuel prices rise... This is with a bad thermostat. After I get the t-stat replaced, I expect larger gains in mpg and I will meet my break-even expectations real-world with a mpg of about 24-25 mpg with my driving style compared to 22 without. It was also a nice improvement in overall driving. It is also completely "hidden" except for my sticker on the back.  Good luck, Boilermaker2 |

I purchased a TCD fuel rail programer after i got the CRD and then about 4 months later i got the GDE hot tune. Problem started after that. Power was god at first with the hot tune then it went down hill. Pluged the TDC back up and the power was better than with just one of the 2 up grades. 23mpg in the city and i do not travel on the hwy enough to check that. So piggybacking is working good too. O yea raced a 4.0 4x4 2door explorer the other day and run off and left it. |

Cosidering the 4.0L Explorers are rated at the same hp as the CRD stock I'd imagine you'd run off and leave it with your mods! LOL! Has anyone had any problems with injectors cracking with the fuel rail mods? I know that was a problem on the Cummins' in the Rams when guys would put Smarty boxes in them and crank them all the way up. What are the downfalls to these boxes? Sounds like the TC's don't hold up well to much more power but are there any issues with the fuel pumps or injectors or fuel rails or anything like that? Also do any of you run gauges in your vehicles after adding these mods? In the diesel truck world gauges are the first thing to do before you start adding more fuel so you can watch your EGT's and trans temp as well as boost. Reading through these forums it seems guys are more focused on off-roading and other mods than performance mods like the truck forums seem to be more focused on. |

GTS, Jeeps are better known for off-road durability more so than on-track prowess....except for the GCSRT crowd. That said, there are several pod threads, and an attempt by some to get a three pod unit...though I think it hit a snag. Some guys pull trailers here so they have also monitor EGT's, boost, oil temp and tranny temps. Hope this helps. It's all buried on this site. B2 |

Definitely not looking for a great "track prowess" out of the Liberty but these mods all go along to make it a better tow vehicle and the gauges are considered a must with the guys strictly towing, not just running down the drag strip. I can't help but think the companies making programmers for these things are crank up the rail pressures at least a bit. I guess it's not enough to have any injector problems with the lack of information on them on the site. |
