I live in the country; mice are an issue. When I discovered a nest in my air intake box I decided to install a screen. I used 1/4" x 1/4". It's small enough to keep mice out, but not as flow restricting as window screen.

1. Remove intake port.
2. Cut screen slightly larger than opening.
3. Press into existing groove.
4. Re-install intake port.

FYI -we've also had a couple of folks who had rabbit/ mouse damage to wiring harnesses - it sounds like there's a vegetable oil (peanut?) used in the wiring loom assembly process.

I don't know how you'd screen that.

Good idea - can use the screen from the air filter when you replace it - just strip the screen outta the foam, cut to size, form to fit, pop-rivet, and yer good to go - been on my GMC 6.5TD for years, same problem: rodent motel
