As i sit here with freshly wiped hands i ask the masses what is the best way to fix a stripped drain plug. It was a sinking feeling when the plug kept turning when i knew it should have stopped.

If you do search you'll get a few hundred hits (not that anyone else has ever done this)

odds are it was hosed from the last oil change - if you don't have the right washer - the rounded shoulder on the plug weakens the outside threads - since you only start with about 3 or so - it strips the next time you try to tightened it - I put in the Fumoto.

Well first thing you have to do is go buy a set of easy outs and drill that sucker and use the easy out to get it out. Then replace it with a Fumoto believe me one of the best investments i have made so far. And dont worry i have lost count how many times i have seen people strip these plugs but it is and easy fix just a little time consuming sometimes.

Be great to have a How-to with part numbers, tap sizes etc.

Mine is still good, but I do all my oil changes. But if I was to strip it out, I'd replace it with a Fumoto.
