Can anyone shed some light on why I'm getting a message requiring a firmware upgrade when I open the newly-installed TOAD program? I tried running the program as administrator, which was suggested early in this thread, but it doesn't help. I'm also getting an error message when I click the start button on the upgrade dialog box. It says "An error occurred while deleting file (null). The system cannot find message text for message number 0x12f9d0 in the message file for SETUPAPI.dll. (error #1243600)."
So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, in addition to running as admin, but haven't yet found a way around this.
Thanks for any help -
I had the same thing happen to me. I had the cord plugged in, computer recognized it. Downloaded the drivers, computer showed it worked. After I installed the TOAD program, then I got that error message on first start up. Then the cord disappeared all together from my device manager. So did the cord corrupt?
I relooked up the one I bought on eBay, and scrolling through the makes and models it supposedly worked for Jeep was not listed. The recommended MPPS cord to buy on eBay, that seller is all out of
stock? I'm dying to drive my baby after my Weeks Stage 1 kit (ok I've driven it about 10 miles total, but don't want to put too many miles on it
with the CEL on), so I'd like to get out of this limbo sooner than later. I'm all ears for recommendations.
I'm currently looking into returning the cord via eBay.
