Just wanted to post some information that might be helpful to others...
When I read my '06 with MPPS, it comes up as "516" (both in the information window and as the auto save file). [
EDIT: I can no longer verify the "516" similarity and removing references to that file in my posts. It would seem the "516" file was introduced into my chain by a third party.]
Evidently 808 and 035 have the same map structure, but when I wrote a 516 modded file to my ECU, the vehicle wouldn't start. Oddly enough, my vehicle will run on any of the 808 tunes.
My '05 shows as a "424" in MPPS (in the information window and as the auto save name), but shows as an 811 in WinOLS.
I'm also hoping someone will answer the question in my previous post regarding map structure. I think it will be helpful to others looking to alter their vehicle's ECU. The original question:
Quote:
The person who was the in-between with me and mass-hole thinks that it's no problem to run the 808 on my vehicle as long as the Jeep starts, but I am under the impression that just because the Jeep starts, it doesn't mean everything else is mapped correctly, so it's probably not a good idea to run the 808 tune on a vehicle with a different stock file.
So to reiterate, can a file have
some of the same functions mapped in the same places, but other functions mapped elsewhere. Which leads to the follow up question, is it a bad idea to run a modded file on your vehicle if it isn't the exact same number (could it be
almost the same but not "same enough")?
Thanks to all.
