Yeah I knew I might have a torque shudder problem, but was hoping that it wouldn't be a problem :banghead:

Hi Yeti, I'm still waiting for my MPPS cable to arrive before I send you my ecu file. Question though- I've managed to download ECM Titanium and it works on my XP computer, but in Italian I think... Looks like I'll have to do a crash language course! :SOMBRERO: Do you think Titanium will read my GDE file?

If I remember correctly you need to click on the second needy from the right, the one next to the question mark, then click idiom and select English...I hope I didn't miss anything there.

I think you can read GDE file , but I'm not sure , i Know originally are encripted for copyright but one time that the file are in the ECU and you read with another tool , like MPPS , you can have a free file that ECM can read , let me know if you can

Yeti, Do you know what the maximum peak torque produced numbers are for the
811 ECU/FCV delete + Stage 2 Hot tune?
Stage 3 maximum Hot tune that you mentioned? I may go to it after the TC install.

I need to know these numbers if possible to order a Torque Converter that will hold the higher torque values in these tunes.

Ha! Not bad retention for just having read up on other forums the other day! I too just got my cable, but haven't found Titanium to download yet.

Found the ECM Titanium download this morning at:
http://depositfiles.com/files/rtuea2dyn
Note: Download (XP) takes about 4-5 minutes.
Click on the Regular Download button, Gold download will cost u$
Install (.exe file) took about 20 minutes after I un-bundled the rar file download...
Now on to figure out how to use it! :dizzy:

Great job , ECM it's more simply than WinOls , but less complete , (BTW) you can edit your ECU

Guys, I retouched the 808 and 811, as many complain about problems with the torque converter, I set the maximum torque to 450 Nm and changed some parameters, I sent the file to Squeeto

Hey Guys,

I have not tried Yeti's no tunes yet but here are the results so far from my Diesel MPG tests:

Stock tune with ORM enables before I applied a tune

Miles: 433.3
Gallons: 19.297
MPG: 22.5

This was my first tank on Yeti's tune on a normal weekly drive for me

Yeti's 808 ECU/FCV delete + Mild tune (vers 1.01)

Miles: 458.2
Gallons: 19.210
MPG: 23.9

That is almost a 1.5+ MPG improvement with nothing changed in driving style. I'm impressed!

I filled up again but this next tank I worked the Liberty, I was pulled car trailer to pick up a 78 CJ-5 I traded for:
Image

Also this tank I spent a ton of time running around in-town going to parts stores to get parts to fix the CJ5 so here were the results with that:
Mile: 490.2
Gallons: 19.731
MPG: 20.7

So I lost 3.2mpg but I was pulling roughly 3,800lb and then doing nothing but in-town driving. Also my son was going with me to get parts, so I might have been playing with the turbo more than I should have, but even with all of that I still almost got 21mpg, I'm seriously impressed!

Overall impression was this is a great tune, my CRD had a tune of low end torque, I had no problem pulling 3800lb but I did run into some torque shutter, HOEVER Yeti has put out a new version, 1.02, which I have not tried yet, that will be my next tank of Diesel. At some point I will need to replace my torque converter, just don't have the time right now to do it.

Yeti great job on that tune its fantastic! Rock on!

I have not tried's Yeti's new tune yet, I'm now trying Nick's 808 ECU/FCV delete + (some) HP tune (vers 1.01) so I will post my Diesel MPG finds for that tune next. After that I will be trying Yeti's 808 ECU/FCV delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02) - 450Nm

Also I'm wondering if I could get a ECO tune going, so far it seems several tunes have been made for HP or Torque gains, and we are seeing Diesel MPG increases, but I wonder if I could make a true ECO tune. I will be messing with Titanium to see if I can't figure that!

Thanks
-Grant

Thanks for the info Grant. Just getting rid of the EGR helps fuel economy.

Maybe we can come up with a pre-F37 file, remove the EGR/FCV, limit the torque for those with stock converters and raise the boost a little.

My big problem is I do not know enough about Diesel and Turbo theory to make these changes. What is interesting is when I was getting 22.5 I didn't have the EGR valve enabled, it was actually disable, and yet I was still able to get better mileage with Yeti's tune.

The ecu may revert to a safer fuel injection\turbo boost\etc. when it feels that the egr is malfunctioning (in your case disabled) so the mileage may not be as good. Only a guess.
