I wrote the modified map to my Cherokee at medium speed and did another read/compare afterwards to see if it was flashed correctly.

Then I did an one-hour drive to test it and I really tortured the Jeep after it has warmed up. Everything seems to work as it should - not a hint of black smoke at kickdown on the highway etc.

So, this goal seems to be fulfilled. Here is the modified file in case someone needs it:

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING!

Now if I only could resolve an occasional CEL using this method :?

I had "P0069 Manifold Absolute Pressure – Barometric Pressure Correlation" from time to time. Cleaning MAP sensor usually removed the code and CEL for some time. The last time I did this the CEL didn't go out so I put a new sensor in. I am still getting an occasional CEL (usually after driving on a highway and then go to a fullstop to pay toll etc.) but this time the scanner doesn't show any stored or pending codes. No codes and CEL still on. It goes out after 3-4 power cycles but this is really going to my nerves
Use ur scanner to read live values at MAP (in the manifold) and BARO (in the ECM) - a dirty air filter can cause MAP offset, a dirty ECM case can cause BARO offset - make sure the breather port is not blocked by engine bay stuff
If I only have access to the complete CRD computer source code - being a software developer I am sure I wouldn't have much trouble to remove all this CEL/limp crap which is really annoying ... I am probably too "old school" - let it drive or let it explode, with nothing in between :D

So my laptop's disc drive took a dump and I am not able to load drivers or software. Does anyone have a link for either I could use? I am having a hard time find a reliable DL site that doesn't have a virus :banghead:

Here's a link to a Dropbox with the 2 installers I used:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/08l7doemzbqp ... 7zCla?dl=0

MPPS 13.02
ECM4Free

It's been a few months since I installed them, but I'm pretty sure they were clean.

hello gents,

could someone clarify if i can use a 808 map where a 526 was the original -- ie are they interchangeable?

If not, then is there a 526 equivalent of "Yeti-808-EGR_FCV_Delete-Mild_Tune(v1.02)-450Nm" floating around?

Also, if anyone is interested in genuine Etecno GX3123 (made in italy) Glow Plugs for our 2.8 CRD drop me a PM. I have them in stock in Canada. I can ship same day and delivered within a few days anywhere in Canada or the US.

thanks :JEEPIN:

I have had many PM's from others with alternate ecu versions (like 513,516,526); hopefully tunes will come out of their work. When I get them, I will post.

Until then, if you are willing, I gave this advice:

I just want to disable EGR and FCV, nothing else ...

Your 513 seems different from 526, 808 and 811.

Download the 808 or 812 oem maps from the first page and compare them to Yeti's "ECU/FCV delete - stock" versions of the same number (808 or 812).

The maps have a certain shape to them. They represent a table of data for the ecu to reference.
You will need to find these maps in the 513 bin and modify them like Yeti did for the ECU/FCV delete.

To quickly compare bin files, I use the dos program vbindiff. This gives the hex location of each block of changed data.
I use WinOLS to find the block (table) of data at that hex location.

To get you started, there are 5 maps changed in the 808 ECU/FCV delete. The first is EGR1 at E1E50.
It is a 16x12 matrix table. To disable the EGR, values are changed to 1550 (max).

Watch a few youTube tutorials on WinOLS and this will make a lot more sense.
Titanium may also be able to this.

:google: EGR Hysteresis 1 and 2.
That may get you closer to your answer.

In summary: It runs great but still has the annoying idiot light for P1140.

Hey all, now that I got my motor put back together I went ahead and tried a tune. I got a "1037377516" file when I downloaded my original ECU tune. Using Titanium I determined that it's a 808, so I downloaded Yeti's mild 1.02 808 tune. The flashing process went fine with no error messages, and the tractor cranks right up and drives very nicely. I am throwing a P1140 code much like the fellow a few pages back, and no matter how many times I clear it via my scan tool it will not go away.

Here is my original tune: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=004 ... 9725940829

Opening in Wordpad shows "1037380808P53363K0" so I am positive I do not have one of the fabled 516 ECUs. Anybody have any ideas?

FCV?
You have the Weeks kit.
Plug it back in (without installing it). See if the code clears.
Maybe ask over on that thread. Someone may have a simple fix like plugging a resistor into the cable to fool the ecu to think that the FCV is still there.

Just a guess. Let me know.

I have not had a chance to do a plugin test yet, but will do so soon. Is there a way to access the list of CEL codes and the variables/events that trigger them? I fiddled with Titanium and winols for a while but nothing jumped out at me.

Fault codes are here:
viewtopic.php?f=98&t=40073

Still thought P1140 was FCV though.
Plug it in and see anyway.

If it works, I have a suggestion.

I'll try it in the morning. I'm inclined to think it will work as you expect; in light of that, do you mind sharing your suggestion now?

Just a bump, plea, for a 526 EGR/FCV delete map. I've tried to take it on but the crappy pc I have to work with isn't up to running Titanium, Winols, or any other tuner program I can find. May give it a try with the ostensibly mac-workable ecuflash if I can get it to read my cable. Doesn't seem capable of reading a map generated by another program.

Others can correct me if I am wrong, but writing an 808 map to a 526 software version ecu would only cause problems in that the 526 system software would be unchanged—it would just now be trying to read parameters for the 808 software version. Not going that route.

I had a look and all seems right to me.
Download available on first page as well as the 513 stock file.

When I last week had the yearly mandatory vehicle inspection I had not fixed the CEL I have on my JEEP. I have now only two weeks left to fix the problem, otherwise it will be a driving ban on the car and then I am not allowed to use it on public roads.

I went to the local Jeep/Chrysler dealer but they couldn´t solve the CEL. They said that it could be the EGR but not by shure. They wanted to replace it with a new but couldn´t promise that this would fix the problem. They also told me it could be the ECU.
To replace the EGR/FCV will cost about $1600 and further a new ECU cost another $1700.

I am now tired of the EGR / FCV problem and plan to remove the entire unit but the most urgent is that I need to remove the CEL before a new vehicle inspection I have to do within two weeks.
If I pm or e-mail my ECU-file, is there anyone that have the possibility to help me and turn off the EGR/FCV in my ECU-file.

________________________________________________________________________________
When I connect to the ECU with my MPPS 13.02 interface I get this
Chrysler ECU Type: BOSCH EDC16C/C2-9.9
Chrysler File No´:1037377516

but when I read the file from the ECU and open it in a wordproc. browser I find at the first line I find this numbers "1037377524P53362K4" which seem to be a "524" version?

Before you start ripping out the egr and fcv, post your problems on the main forum page.
Most dealers don't know as much as the members here.
There may be an easy solution.

Get through the inspection and then consider disabling components.

No fix is available for the Weeks elbow yet so just wait.

Your 516 ecu has yet to be modded. Provide a download, I will put it on the first page and maybe someone can alter it for you.

I have successfully disabled the CEL that my weeks kit caused with Yeti's help. I have an 808 ECU but I would imagine he could do a similar mod to other ECUs.

Yeti (Marco) has been a huge contributor to this project.
Thanks again Marco.

I will upload the file later tonight.
