I am very illiterate with ECM Titanium. I was able to open the program and view the HEX code. I do not understand what I am looking at so I am afraid to make any changes.

Thank you for your input. If you have any other ideas I am willing to give it a try.

Ok Ok I understand. Thanks for responding.

My problem with DIY changes started when I tried to open Titanium. I get an error message I don't know how to get past.

The re-Flashing bit works just fine.

I will trace down the wires on the loom and put a resistor in there.

The location of the original plug comes away from the loom at the same point that the yellow wire to the starter solenoid comes out.
Remember, after putting in the resistor, you will have to clear the code with a scanner. An emission code won't go away by it's self, even after correcting the problem.
I'm using the original solenoid, so I don't know what current capacity the resistor needs to be, but something like this should be sufficient.

if you have the DTC p0403 on , probabily the solution is not right , you must watch in 2d and 8 bit , and put to zero the selected address , if not work the address is wrong

I did have that problem, but solved it by removing the electrical parts from the FCV and the EGR, then plugging them back in, and tucking them out of the way. It works...for now.

Shows it in USB as "AMT flash", it may just be a bad cable, I might just sent it back or get a refund

What do you consider "Perfect Condition"?
Would this be more HP & torque than the Stage IV Hot tune?

I am somewhat late to the party here, but looking to find a set of bits which will turn off the EGR and FCV without removing them and perhaps supply a bit of improved power and fuel economy. My ride is an 06 CRD, US market, no mods. Appears to have the F37 dealer flash done to it (based upon old sticker).

I've read thru this thread (all 63 pages, although some was just skimming). And thought I'd try Yeti's EGR & FCV delete with mild boost V1.02.

But having just read and backed up my original bits, it appears I have a 526 version not the 808 as I was expecting, here's what the bin looks like in Wordpad (hmm, can't seem to paste into here so here what I see in Wordpad typed in):

... 1037377526P53362K4 ...

So I assume this means I have a 526 version; please let me know if I am getting that wrong.

When I look thru this thread, there does not seem to be much out there for the 526 version of bits. There is Greybeast's 526 with EGR & FCV delete and the original 526 bits out there (which my read bits are identical to) but I did not see any more. Did I miss something?

So a few more questions for the experts here:

1. Greybeast did an update at one point because he missed some changes. Anyone know if his bits up on dropbox are the latest from him?

2. Anyone know if Yeti or someone did the Yeti V1.02 EGR & FCV and mild tune on the 526 base and where one can get it?

3. I understand that pulling the physical EGR valve and FCV is the best way to go. But in my state we have inspections where they check for emissions parts modification or removal. So if those pieces were missing I could fail. So I intend to keep those parts in place and plugged in, but am hoping that some set of bits I can download will effectively remove them. WWDiesel has stated that if these parts are left in, one should block them off (at least the EGR). Can someone go into some more detail about where one needs to do this (e.g. is that blockoff plate the only thing for the EGR or is there more one should do)? And on the FCV, if the new bits still use the FCV for startup and shutdown shouldn't one leave the plate in there?

4. Anything else I should be doing for this or consider?

Thanks

{Edit} BTW when I was looking for ECM 1.61, the only place that one could download it without a paid acct was this link http://turbobit.net/32nv3x4xga5i.html All the other sites either did not work, limit the free download size or no longer had it. Thought this might be helpful for folks...

yes you have the 512 bin file , you can leave the egr and fcv If they work properly , and only disable via tuning file

It is fairly simple, two small bolts! Install a thin steel block off plate between the exhaust feed tube that comes across the rear of the engine and bolts to the EGR valve/cooler assembly.
The plate can be made out of most any thin metal plate like a lid from a soup or vegetable can; it does need to be made out of steel, simply cut it to dimensions given and sandwich in between the end of the exhaust feed tube and where it bolts up to the EGR assembly and reinstall bolts and tighten. Once installed it will be invisible to visual inspections and with a DTC delete tune for the EGR & FCV by Yeti there will be no DTC's present.

see this post for install instructions

no need to delete the DTC if you use the block off plate and leave all the wiring harnes plugged ;-)

Some on LOST have reported getting a DTC after installing a block-off plate, some say they never get one after installing the plate; weird!
I think is had something to do with EGR expected flow as calculated by the MAF sensor?
