Hello Yeti, I have your tune in my 2006 CRD and I replaced the Etecno Glow plugs with the Bosch 5V plugs... will your tune accept the 5v plugs? |

yes the 811 have the last calibration ,and the 5v Bosch GP's can manage the voltage given by the ECU |

811 is the last Jeep release for the 7 volt ceramic glow plugs. Unless the glow logic is copied over from the 5 volt TSB release it will lead to reduced glow plug life if you are running the 5 volt metallic glow plugs. |

Yes, but ......... the new glow plug have a thermal resistance that cuts the voltage, when the temperature increase at the tip, to prevent overheating example is the new Etecno , 7v and 5v is the same , only difference is the mark on the gp I have it on mine ....5v Bosch and it's 2 year that they work fine ps : never changed the GP module and management in the ecu |

So anyone running the 7v Etecno's and having cold temperature starting issues should swap them out to the 5v GP's? Is that a fair statement? |

Is that a fair statement? it depend if you have the last management and the last GP production ..............but the cold starting issues remain I use to cicle the key 3 time below -10 c and use arctic fuel and cetan booster , plus an Odyssey battery |

Are the files distinguished from the previous file by a revision number or a revision date? Did I miss it? |

WWDiesel wrote: Yeti wrote: it depend if you have the last management and the last GP production Please explain in detail if you can..... the glow plug management in the ecu is changed in the revison software , the last revison is for the ceramic gp and give a bit less voltage , the latest production is two years now that is in the market and you can buy it . this pdf is from Beru Glow Plug , but the tecnology uesd from Bosch, Etecno is the same http://beru.federalmogul.com/sites/defa ... 014_fm.pdf the second coil cut voltage when the tip is too hot , you can see the voltage management too , hope now is clear |

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and to the CRD. My daughter just bought a 2005 Liberty CRD Limited. It is a beautiful vehicle and since I love my daughter I thought it would be good to dig a little deeper into the Jeep's durability. I saw this post about disabling the EGR system and thought that would be wise. Do any of the tunes you have posted completely eliminate the EGR function and cel codes? Do I have to unplug or disconnect any wires or hoses afterward? Are any of these tunes similar to the GDE eco tune? Also, this may need to be on a separate post, but what is the lifespan of its timing belt? How difficult is it to change? Thanks for the help |

So if your EGR and FCV are unplugged or removed it wont set a code. The problem with the EGR valve is it sometimes gets stuck open. So its best to completely delete the EGR or block it off. Some of the DIY tunes do add more power. Whether a DIY tune is as good or better than a GDE tune is subjective. |

Tunes only disable the DTC (check engine) lights electrically if the EGR & FCV are unplugged and / or removed totally. Some of them may disable the EGR valve function in the OBC. The only 100% sure way to ensure no EGR leakby is to either mechanically block off the EGR feed tube or completely remove the EGR valve from the engine. Removing totally is best! See this thread for block off information:> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76576 See this for Weeks Elbow Kit (Sasquatch Parts) to totally remove EGR valve & FCV:> https://shop.sasquatchparts.com/product ... berty-crd/ |

not every free tune present can delete the dtc , and....sorry is free tune and can't be compared with a well studied tune ,there is no comparison |
