I’ve been working on it also but pulled out my old win 7 laptop and am still getting the same error. I’ve been trying to reinstall the drivers and am getting a failure to install now. :banghead:

I had to manually install the drivers on my old Win XP laptop when I got my MPPS cable and software and did my re-flashes...

Ahh, you're right. Ok. Hmm so why did my computer forget that it recognized the cord and now no longer does? I'm trying to figure out why the two won't talk to eachother and I get that error message?

Are you running MPPS as administrator?

Does anyone have a good link to download updated drivers? The drivers I had that installed fine now fail after uninstalling to try to get it to work.

version 13.02 is what's recommended for the Jeep CRD!
http://www.obd2eshop.com/service/mpps-v ... e-135.html
Drivers may have to be installed manually!
Once installed, Right click MPPS icon -> "Run as administrator"!

I just jumped through the hoops of finding a Win 7 number, installing the virutalbox only to end up with the same issues of the error message. This is getting old. So this would tell me it wasn't Win 10 creating the issue.

To date I've been trying the Total Car Care Diagnostics program. Am I better off with the Titatinum ECU program I've been seeing come up in this thread?

Hallelujah...I think.

Wells, here's what I think I've uncovered. I'm back on my Windows 10 machine (I need to charge it back up before I head out to the Jeep to know for sure), but I think I have at least got one step closer. When installing the MPPS-TOAD-Car-Tuner file, you'll end up with an MPPS Updated file out of the deal. I'm not exactly sure when, how or why but I saw a second executable (.exe) file show up after that install: MPPS Setup v12.0.0.6.exe so i right clicked that and installed. When the new icon popped up on my desktop I right clicked and hit run as administrator and I got in. So I finally see the program to be able to select make and model!

However when I close out of the program I still get that same dialogue box i used to get (The instruction at 0x0000000000002D referenced memory at 0x000000002D. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program), so I worry I'm not out of the woods yet. But first I'm going to charge up the laptop. Then I'll attempt to go through the other steps. I'm hoping I'm good!

Ok, I got it all to work, but...

I installed Yeti's 808 Stage 1 kit. CEL still came on. I have two thoughts right now. Either I didn't properly install the flash (seemed to go fine), or when I was cleaning the MAP sensor while doing my Weeks Stage 1 kit, I messed it up. So how do I use this program now to diagnose CELs?

The mpps tool will not do diagnostics. You need a code reader. Did you do both the weeks 1&2 ? If you did, the related codes are p1140 and p0403, p0403 is not disabled in the yeti 808 tune.

I only did stage 1. So if I take it to O'Reiley's and they scan it, in theory if I did the reflash right, I shouldn't end up with p1140 and will get something else?

This one:
(Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV/DTC code delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02))
Turns off the FCV code error, but not the EGR.
I used the original EGR solenoid unbolted from the rest of the contraption, and the loom connector plugged in. I then (for now) wrapped a rag around it, and tucked it in between the brake booster and the fender. An 8 ohm speaker resistor will work too.

This one:
(Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete + Stage 2 Hot tune (vers 1.01))
Doesn't turn off either DTC code.
You need to have both units plugged in (but not functional) just tucked out of the way.

OR pay for a custom tune done exactly the way you want it.

It is my understanding that if any of the tunes say "EGR/FCV/Delete" , it should allow you to completely remove and unplug the EGR valve and FCV and discard them without receiving ANY DTC's.

In your case after installing the Weeks kit, you could install one of the 808 tunes (your pick) listed on the first page of this thread and not get any DTC's due to removing and unplugging the EGR valve and FCV if it has "Delete" in the listing.
I am running a Yeti tune, a Weeks kit, no EGR, and no FCV, and I have no DTC's!!!

Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete - stock,
Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02) -
Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV/DTC code delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02)
Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete + Stage 2 Hot tune (vers 1.01)

I understand there are people in here that have and use editors like Titanium. I'm pretty surprised someone of them hasn't fixed that and tossed in an edited version of it.

I've edited just about every one of the 808 tunes to delete p0403 just so I didn't have a check engine light but didn't want to step on anyone's toes uploading them though

Upload your edited files to Dropbox.
Then create a new thread with the links to your Dropbox files.

This way it will be easy for everyone to find.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I have a GED tune on one of my jeeps. It always shows a P0403 on the scanner, but does not show a engine light.

On another Jeep I just deleted the EGR and the FCV and uploaded one of the tunes from here. It has a light but from other codes that are not related to the delete function. Still trying to sort out the other codes.

With the tune the codes will always be there but not turn on the light.

I am I correct in thinking this is the way the tunes work?

This was the tune I put on for my post Weeks 1 kit:

Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02)

I still have a CEL, but will try and get it scanned soon to know for sure what code I'm setting off. I think I mentioned it above, but the only other variable I can think of is maybe messing up my MAP sensor since I cleaned it when everything was apart.

Newb question, DTC stands for what?

And for clarity, through all of this I have left my MAF plugged in. I didn't think that was necessary with the reflash.

You should not have a visible DTC (diagnostic trouble code aka "Check Engine Light") if you have installed one of the EGR/FCV delete tunes!
Your visible DTC may well indeed be another issue. Getting it scanned may clear up the mystery.
For the tunes on this forum, the MAF still needs to be in service....

I believe you are very correct in your thinking for the tunes on this forum! Not sure what or how the GDe function?
Need to know what are the other codes are in order for members to offer advice...

Thank you w w diesel this is the Jeep that's been assigned to severe-duty it regularly pulls 8000 to 10000 pound load therefore it's Been a lot of time in high RPM range. it has been a hundred and ten thousand miles since the rocker arms were replaced I believe they are once again Beyond repair need to be replaced the code I have is p0299. Lots of smoke under load. I've checked all the other obvious things like split hoses and all that sort of thing.

My wife’s 06 has a full EGR delete and a GDE tune.
No check engine light and no codes for EGR on hers.

My 05 has a full EGR delete and a Yeti 811 tune.
No codes for EGR or FTV.

If your GDE tune is still showing codes for EGR, you may want to contact GDE to see if they can fix that for you.

If your DIY tune is showing EGR codes, you may want to contact Yeti or Dez about fixing it for you.
