Most reports on this forum stated they used either Ironman springs or OME springs with great success...
I have the Ironman springs with the Bilstein Shocks front and rear and am very pleased with all aspects of handling and ride quality....

I replaced the front springs (and shocks with Bilstein's) with a set from Autozone a couple months back. Driving around town the ride is great. I put it on the highway the other day and have to say the ride sucked. The best way I can describe what is going on is that the front end seems to bob up and down like worn springs when it go over an imperfection. I have had the alignment checked and verified. What have you all replaced your springs with and are happy with the result? It just seems the constant rate Duralast springs aren't quite up to the task. |

What is the part number on that coil from Autozone? From what I can tell, CS81136 is their gasser coil, while CS81144 is their diesel coil. The specs tab on the mobile site sucks the big one. |

Bilstein shocks have a good reputation and users here on this forum have reported that they are very good shocks. However, the springs you chose are a different story. I've never heard of them and nobody else here has reported about them in any way. I suspect that the problem you describe is with the springs. Most CRD owners who change out their front springs choose the OME springs. Yes, they will lift your suspension but they ride way better than the stock springs. |

If I went with the Ironman or OME, would I need to get longer Bilstein's or could I re-use the set I have now? |

Longer shocks are not required with the mild 2 to 2.5 inch lift springs. I am running the Ironman springs with stock Bilstein shocks and no issues. If you are planning on doing a lot of serious off roading, then you many want to consider the longer shocks? For a daily driver and street use, longer is not needed....

I recently installed the OME 790's up front with the 948,s in the rear, and I am VERY happy with the ride quality. Even though it does lift it a bit, it's not that much, and still looks good with stock tires. Mike |

Problem solved and Autozone springs are being returned in the morning. |
