Sorry, I corrupted my hard drive that had all my software so I had to rebuild. Will take a look now.

Do you still think the map at E9106 is for Torque converter lockup?

What are your thoughts on the maps at E6D1A, E6F5E, E71A2 as control maps for the A/C Fan? We know the fan is two speed, so perhaps 4506 and 8192 correspond to low and high.

The x axis data could be A/C system pressure, 15000 mbar would be about 220 PSI which, from what I can find, is about what the high side of a A/C system should be.

The 3 maps could correspond to Transmission, coolant, and IAT's maybe?

Can you see when they A/C fan comes on with your DRB for the transmission and coolant temps to see if we can correlate it.

I did some tests and E6D1A, E6F5E, and E71A2 are definatly A/C fan control. I can confirm that E6D1A is for Coolant temperature as I made a tune which activated low speed at 64C and high speed at 72C coolant temps.

I have not figured out what the other two are for. I thought on might be Manifold air temps but the fan never turned on with either map set to 40C.

I can't load the ols file , but nice job , one question , the fan only work with A/C on ?

No the fan will work with the A/C off as well. I only filled in the 0 column in my tests down to 64C and it worked with the A/C off.

ok , than first map manage the fan even with the A/C off , the second can be the management with A/C on ? and the last with trans temp ?

there is a temp sensor in the A/C circuit ?

I know we have Water Temp Sensor , Transmission Temp Sensor and IAT , but if we have A/C temp Sensor , the second map can be related , unfortunately I can't do this test , I don't have the E/Fan , I have removed it for make room for my trans cooler

I just looked in the service manual and I dont see anything about a temperature sensor in the A/C system. The A/C system does use the ambient temperature sensor for something but both maps are far to high to be looking at ambient temp.

The second map activates at 72C which seems too low for the transmission. That would make sense for IAT's but it doesnt seem to be the case. Maybe they are not all active maps.

The AC system uses pressure sensors not temperature sensors.

ok ,3 map , one work with E-Fan without A/C ....the second won't work ? you have tested with A/C on ?

I can remember that , the E-Fan start when I use the A/C at first start after some hours of parking below the sun , but in the map I can't see something amenable , I don't think the IAT can reach the 72c even below the sun :juggle:

Just to mention, the electric fan runs at all times whenever the AC system is low on refrigerant (discharged). Somehow the AC pressure sensors do affect fan behavior.

Also, from somewhere else in the Forum:

Quote:
E fan turns on when the PCM feel s like it. Many inputs including battery temperature !?!!?

From the service manual.
The electric radiator cooling fan is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM) through the radiator cooling fan relays. The PCM regulates fan operation
based on input from the engine coolant temperature sensor, battery temperature
sensor, air conditioning select switch and vehicle speed.
...
Vehicles Equipped with AC: In addition to using coolant temperature and
battery temperature sensor to control cooling fan operation, the cooling fan will
also be engaged when the air conditioning system is activated. The relay is also
energized when air conditioning is selected and coolant temperature is above 95°
C (203° F), or, air conditioning is selected and battery temperature sensor is
above 41° C (106° F). It will then de-energize when air conditioning is selected
and coolant temperature is below 92° C (198° F), or air conditioning is selected
and battery temperature is below 38° C (100° F).

it's near the true , but I don't have the battery temp sensor in my KJ , and the start of the E-Fan is at 96,5 c for the first speed and 107c for the second speed in the 1st and 3rd map , in the 2nd map the fan is engaged at 72c , only if the A/C prex is low ..
always if we interpret correctly the BP in this map

I tested two tunes, one with map 2 activated at 12C and the second with map 3 activated at 12C. I tested on a hot car that had been driven for an hour and 20C weather and neither activated the fan. It appears coolant may be the only active map.
