Post subject:  fuel rail pressure sensor replacement how to?

good morning. I've tried google and the search function to no avail, I'm looking for a how to guide on replacing the fuel rail pressure sensor. can anyone point me in the right direction?

Download the correct year KJ Service Manual here: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ

As far as I remember this sensor does not have any form of gasket or O Ring but "cuts" its way into the aluminium so if it has been removed then it can longer be re-fitted. :wink:

Fuel rail pressure sensor is easy.
Just unplug it and use an appropriately sized wrench to remove it.

The sensor is reusable.
Just put some blue lock-tite in the threads to help seal it up.

thanks gents, I've got stag jointing paste will that be sufficient? I've got a second kj down the back i bought for parts.

As long as you don't get any past the end of the threads towards the tip, it should be fine.

Also, the pressure sensor from the Dodge Cummins diesels is the same, and available from aftermarket at a much lower price.

It's been a few months, but if you need a new one, the best price I found was (IIRC) from DieselDestruction on Amazon. About $50.
